When you get tired of searching let me know, Cincinnati is only 4 hours away! Haha.

Looking for your ideal color combo can be painstaking - watched my brother specifically look for a 11' 135i 6MT Blue on Red spec.

Fastest way to get the color you want would be a wrap, but that is just my recommendation.

HA! Yeah, the search has gotten a little tiring but I think the right car will show up at some point. I just hope it's not in California! A wrap is out of the question. Looks nowhere as good as paint...just my opinion. Roof is one thing but I won't do an entire car.

Oh I understand, I don't think I would ever wrap a car in gloss. I did wrap my 06' GTO in satin blue, and it looked great. Doesn't have that same "grainy" effect of the gloss vinyl.

Good luck on your continued search!

Yup, 100% agree. The gloss jobs I've seen look like terrible paint jobs. The satin jobs have been pretty good. But, my issue around here is the quality of work. It's just not there yet IMO. I'm very much a "details" person so if the slightest crinkle happens I'll be so annoyed. Satin dark grey is probably the only color I'd do.

Ah you're probably referring to the silver one in Texas. Yeah, no silver for me.

I did NOT see the Craigslist one. But jesus what a crap ad. "BMW for sale"....great title. "BMW for sale in a very good condition. Please email if you have more questions. Thanks!" *siggggghhhh*

The mileage is perfect, the color combo is great, but the rebuilt title kills it for me. I may reach out just to see what kind of story it is, but based on the 2 photos, great title, and even better description, I'm not expecting much conversation.

Still didn't find one?

Nope!! There have been some good cars but there's always been something that hasn't worked out...be it color, transmission, lack of an option, etc.

Too bad. This would have been it. Car was a total loss after 1 year. Yikes. 3 owners and it has mileage issues as well. I've got the carfax if anyone wants it but this is certainly a no go.

Thanks again for the continued leads. Have had 2 great cars find me...both end up being 6MT. I'm not ready to make that plunge yet but may give in! Keep 'em coming!

Haha, I'm sure I mentioned it somewhere. I'm a regional sales manager for an abrasive manufacturer/recycler. B2B though! Not one of those slimy car sales guys lol.

I'm just familiar with the process. I was dead set like you on a certain combination, then expectations didn't meet reality. All in all, I was super happy with my purchase at the end of the day - even though it wasn't what I originally wanted.

I don't think my preferences are TOO outlandish. Did I expect to find the car right away? Absolutely not. I'm not entirely surprised I haven't found "the one" yet. The finder's fee has helped bring people to my aid in trying to find something. My hope has always been to find someone who knows the platform and has done preventative maintenance or at least is up front with me about what may need to be done. A dealership *more than likely* is going to be a crapshoot. More risk involved with a dealer car. I like your car, I really do. And the tasteful mods are great. A wrap easily rectifies the exterior color issue, but it's still $2K to have that done. That bumps me up to $20K though and that's a lot of coin for me to spend on an E90 that essentially has me "settling."

I'm pretty fortunate that I don't have to settle. Driving an X5 every day has me DYING to get back into a car again, but I have the luxury of being able to pick and choose what I want which definitely helps. Your car in satin dark grey doesn't sound too bad either.

Totally just saw this! Doing the finders fee was a good idea. Even if you are on the majority of platforms looking (E90 Post, Search Tempest, Car Gurus, Cars.com, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist, etc) there are always a few cars that get through the cracks.

I appreciate the compliments on my car, I enjoy it a lot! Will be sad to see it go for sure. I think you are on the right track finding a private owner who has thoroughly enjoyed the car and knows it's history. Helps prevent future headaches that would easily push you over your budget.

I get the color grind as well, wraps are not cheap to pay someone! Not trying to push you one way or the other, but E90/E92's are very easy to wrap. Luckily everything comes off simply and they have easy lines to work with. We wrapped my twin brother's e92 a few years ago. Just something to consider, as materials would be close to $7-800 if you wanted to tackle it over a weekend. Shoot, I even have a wholesale account at Metro Restyling if you were serious about it. Discounted prices and a no-tax-if-paid-in-cash!

That x5 has to be fun! I finally got back in the E90 after driving the new truck for 2 weeks. What a difference! Really going to miss it, but the 91' Turbo LS Camaro and 70' Cutlass, mixed with 4x 70's Honda's in the garage tell me I'll be ok.

I had the exact spec you're looking for except for mileage - 2010 AW M Sport 6AT Comfort Access with black interior.

Had, because I got rear ended a month ago and it got totaled out. Good luck with your search- There's one less out there now.

HA! Yeah maybe it is easy to wrap, but I don't have the time or patience to try it myself. I'm having a hard enough time trying to sell all the leftover parts off my 335. Slowly but surely. As for the X5...I don't know if I'd say it's "fun." It's a good daily and certainly gets the job done. But I miss a car SO much.

Well crap! Not the news I was hoping for, but the reality is that there are probably several that are ruled out due to similar situations.
