Pure Stage 2 N55

So I think I am going to bite the bullet and get the PS2 installed on my 2011 e90. I'm "only" shooting for 450 whp, what other mods do you guys recommend along with the turbo. Should I get the GFB DV+? Inlet? HD actuator? Just want to hear any thoughts you guys might have especially those with experience with the PS2. I also have a VRSF catted DP, not sure how restrictive that will be.

You biggest challenge will be having the octane to handle the boost. You will be heavy in ethanol and likely be port injection to take advantage of the turbo and meet your hp target.. The fuel is going to be your biggest/expensive issue.

I recently (4/2021) dyno'd my '12 135i @ 450 rwhp with a PS2; I'm FBO including inlet/outlet, GFB DV+, HDWGA (only because I screwed up the threads on my OEM WGA), catless DP, stock exhaust from DP back, no Meth, no PI, 22# boost, 92 pump + 8oz Boostane octane booster, on a mostly DIY MHD tune. Also dyno'd @ 475 at 25# + E30 and 415 at 18# same dyno session.

+1 for upgrading the DV and inlet

I decided to go through with it and have the PS2 turbo, pure inlet, and GFB DV+ installed. I'll update this post with my feedback after it all gets installed. Might take a few weeks for everything to come in. Let me know if you have any questions or advice.

Let us know what you are hitting... To put Boostane in specs is laughable and dangerous. That stuff settles and is useless after sitting for a day. I used it once and when testing showed it wasnt sustainable stop using it.

Yeah I have accepted that on ACN 91 I'll be rather octane limited so I'll have my tuner make an e30 map too. Eventually I'll probably add more fueling and maybe even meth.

Nice numbers! I've seen some of your tuning questions here and over on SS - do you mind sharing if you were able to make these numbers using just the tables in the public XDF, or did you need to add any other tables to get things running well?

I'm running a pure 1 (mmmmeh?) with all the goodies - intake, charge pipes, down pipe, intercooler, CSF radiator and a MHD 2+ tune -- and I fully expect a solid 400-450. At altitude.

I think you'll be fine!

I’m running a PS1 at sea level and would not expect anything near 400-450.

What’s your secret? What are you doing for fuel/eth/meth?

No secrets just ...all the things. The mhd with goodies is a big bump into 375-400 without a turbo upgrade. No meth, but eth is available and is certainly something I will try... eventually. Others in the group with twins N54s and put down 550-650 with way less goodies (cheating bastards). One guy needs a second pump so jokes on him.

I gave up on “fully expecting” certain results from people or things a long time ago. I’m happy with what I’ve gotten out of my car after 4 years of tweaking.

I guess To “fully expect” a dyno sheet from anyone making HP claims is to fully expect a lot.

No offense but I could easily say I’m close to 400 HP with my mods. 🤪

Even with dyno it could be meaningless without a baseline that was set on same dyno and conditions. This is how manufacturers get away with saying a intake on these cars produce 20hp when in reality been shown to loss hp.
