2AAB (DISA) but which?

So I have a recurring 2AAB. Is it DISA #1 or DISA #2?

I've been using protool for coding, pulling codes and reading data. It says #2 opens ~4500 and #1 opens closer to redline, maybe 5500 I didn't catch exactly when. That #1 opening sounds way too late to me. Unless maybe it's a delayed reading.. I thought one was for the low end approx 3k RPM? It's likely a false or delayed reading.

I don't think it's possible to read the actual position, only what signal is being sent to the DISA. On shutdown, even with one unplugged both toggle from 70% to about 33% so I'd guess that's the correct output it is reading.

Both DISAs are not original. The outer came without markings and a metal pin installed but I don't remember the vendor. I'm pretty sure it's working and is the ~4.5k RPM DISA.

There is a fax machine sound on shut down which may be the large one, it's hard to pinpoint. I definitely feel like there's some power missing in the low end which would explain the code and the likely DISA failure code.

On a side note, any good vendors or brands for a small DISA? They all seem to be double the price of a large, almost better off going OEM.

Just did mine.

That code is for the larger unit.

Take off the bolts for the power steering pump, and airbox. You can then remove the unit and inspect.

Correct above. Small is 2AAC or sometimes in combo with 2AA8 iirc.
