I have a Nokia N80 and my Bluetooth recognises my phone, but it doesn't work.
It paires but I can't call or take calles or any other phone functions.

Any Clue? If the N-series phones from Nokia are not compatible with the BMW Bluetooth, then why did it pair with my phone?

Need Help?

KRZR K1

I just got the Motorola KRZR K1 through cingular. It linked to my car, the address book transfered and I was able to make phone calls through the blue tooth interface. I had no problems.

I have a Samsung T809.

I've been able to pair it with the car (07 335i) BUT even though the address book did get uploaded to the car, it is completely messed up when i browse it on the nav screen (I have idrive/nav). Every entry has some $ char in front of them when they show up, some are just unreadable.

Anybody with the same phone? Same issue?

Has anyone paired a Nokia 2366i (Verizon) with an E92?

I got Nokia 6133 to pair and work successfully, but the voice command feature doesn't work. (says phonebook is empty)

EDIT: I dont have iDrive so intelligent voice commands are not part of the package.. but using voicetags works great! phone's 100% compatible.

Ok Motorola V330 pairs but phonebook is not accessible

EDIT. Correction: it took a little bit of time to get the phonebook to copy itself over to the car, but now it works 100%, but takes around 30 seconds to get paired up with the car initially..

Verizon LG & Phone Directory

I have a verizon LG 8100 that is able to synch to my E90 330i (2006) but it will not transfer the phone directory from the phone to the car. Any way to do this other than a new phone?

I don't know anything about particular phones mentioned here except the one I use (a Blackberry), but for those whose address book does not sync up with the car, maybe check to make sure you have the latest s/w update for your phone. I don't mean the BMW software, but the phone's OS. With my Blackberry, the phone would work but the phone book would not transfer when I first tried it -- then I updated the phone s/w to the latest version, and it works perfectly.

2007 E91 320d with an iPaq 6915 works flawlessly, calling works like a charm and the phone book was transferred within 3 minutes with over 300 contacts.

Nokia N Series

I am told that Nseries phones from Nokia will not (ever) be compatible with BMW bluetooth - not sure why - but I have heard it on good authority from both Nokia and BMW technical.

Just adding to the list.

Hooked up a Motorola Krzr K1m and a Motorola Razr V3m to my 2007 328 (E90) without a hitch today. Recognized the phone and grabbed the phone book without a prob.

Kind of off topic ... but when the phone book transfers to the car (i-drive or no i-drive) it's held in memory and then sync'd for changes correct?

Would you be able to work around it by keeping an old phone that does sync up, transferring your address book and then pairing up a phone that can't transfer the phone book? Does the car see that as a different device and not allow it access to the phone book?

Yet another phone report:
Sony Ericsson Z525a-Cingular Branded
BMW 335i Coupe (Premium Package, no iDrive)

Address book: Yes
Phone Pairing: Yes
Dialing out via radio: No
Handsfree incoming: Yes

Now then, I could very well just be being dense, and missing a setting somewhere in my phone, but the inability to dial out from the car (I have to open the phone, select who I want to call, press send from the phone) is rather annoying. If I select a name from the phonebook in the list on the car, it makes the phone dial, but doesn't come through the handsfree.

No, the car is reading the phone's address book every time; it doesn't keep the address book in the car's memory.
