He also checked on me again on Sunday watching from the Quarry and said I looked good. So, even if you are signed off, they keep an eye on you.

Can't wait to return on Aug 5th.
Ken, you always progress well during an event with instructor. You were really enjoying it, I could tell.
It is always nice to be signed off, but take your instructor out with you again, or following you around.

I had the pleasure to track with 4 of my past instructors.

Also there were 3 other M Coupes on track this w/e.

Mine (Red)
a blue one (Group A)
a black one (Instructor)
a silver one with ESS supercharger (Group B)

I keep mine at 38 hot! Feels great. Usually 32 cold all around gets me there! In the past I used to run 42 hot.

so you were running under 40 in the back?

interesting....i am running bout 42-43 in the front - a little high so that i can counteract my excessive shoulder wear.

rears are usually bout 40 or 41....

i need more grip in front; back seems to be ok. but if i lowered the pressures in front, i'd end up with ridiculous wear on the tire shoulders... think its time for those camber plates... another mod for next year....

wow that seems really low! i guess youre lucky that you have camber plates in front otherwise you'll get ridiculous shoulder wear with such low pressures.

Completely agree on the signed off thing. If it were for the instructor only, he would have signed me off completely after 2 sessions. I insisted he had another one with me on Saturday and another one on Sunday.

Was the B group MCoupe a prior model? I don't seem to recall a silver Mcoupe which is the same model generation as yours.

Maybe he was in C group (?)
He has the same model as mine, he has a front splitter and a Supercharger.

What a nice weekend. My brakes are 100% fucked and I'll update you on that in a future post. Got signed off to A group or solo if I want but will keep an instructor. Lost brakes completely in my last session and went off the track a bit but was uneventful. Klaus is ridiculously good as an instructor. Wow. Sat me down at the end and we talked about everything on his checklist. Very thorough and pointed out areas I should improve on.

Best weekend yet and greatest track I've been on.

Car understeer like a pig though and you really feel the weight but it's still much fun. Quarry and Temptation are my favorites

Congrats Gewow! Was your last session solo or with Klaus?

Can you be more specific about what is wrong with your brakes? Is it the pads, the rotors, the brake fluid boiled, or all of the above?

i guess you managed to find some replacement pads so you can drive down to the states ? i still cant believe you burnt those pads so quickly. tracking is going to be a very expensive sport for you!

Gewow,

Sorry to hear of your brake troubles, something is not right with it. It's not normal that you get that kind of failure. Find out what is possibly wrong before you do another event. Seriously, it's 2 events now that you are complaining about them brakes and this happens.

We need you safe.

wow madness... u screwed the calipers too!?!?

well anyway, if you want to buy my complete brake kit, i'll sell it to you for cheap. unless you want to use a bbk, which means you'll need a new set of wheels cos the oem 18s are useless when it comes to bbk clearance.

I saw that you had to come in to the pits... must have been right after you got slightly off track.

Something is definitely wrong with the premature wear of your brakes.

I take donations of oem 18s.

Checked my Dunlops this morning... still a lot of life left in them. Should be able to do 9 track days total with them... maybe even more.
