Sorry. I'm late on this thread. Stuck on the Mega sync. Can't get it to copy to a 128GB. Can someone offer assistance?

After many attempts with the mega download file, I keep getting an error message and WinRAR won't open it. The torrent file that you posted is split into five separate files and won't let me install. I tried to combine the files into one .zip file, and the car says that the file has been altered or tampered with, please see your BMW service station.

Some help here to get this file is greatly welcomed because my maps are from 2010 and it makes the nav almost unusable

I just used the file posted in the first couple post and worked great today, you only need one usb to do it, use that one. There are some ways to get the file to download faster also listed in this post.

You have to extract the data from the five rar files, not zip them into a new file. Download and install "WinRAR" or "7-Zip". After that right click on the "BMW_ROAD_MAP_NORTH_AMERICA_PREMIUM_2019.part1.rar " file and select "extract".

This will combine the five files back into the proper format that the car will understand. Use a 32GB usb stick if you have one. Copy just the "pkgdb" folder and the config.nfm file to the usb stick and plug it into the car.

Sorry this maybe a stupid question. I am in the process of downloading this file now.
I understand the process:
Pre reqs:
1. USB FAT32
2. Move all files to the root of the USB.
3. Plug USB in and let it run.

I am fairly new to the CIC, recently purchased a used 2014 X6
Will I need a code to activate (FSC) which was mentioned a few times in this thread?
Or will i just be able to stick the USB in and update the maps?

Yes, you will need a FSC code unless a previous owner input a lifetime FSC code. Most just use a one time FSC code as lifetime will void warranty for some reason.

Where can I get an FSC code?
How can I confirm if it's a lifetime code that was input? (Probably no way to find out)

You can buy one from sellers on ebay by providing your Vin, or you can try to retrieve it yourself from your car using a USB stick and flash drive; https://www.e90post.com/forums/showt...hlight=1b+file

Only way to know would be to try to update and see if it asks for one I would think.

Thanks for all the feed back. Much appreciated. I'll follow up once completed.

Thanks, it worked as advertised and now has made the nav usable.

They are killing the updates for it? Aren't they used in units all the way up to 2017?

I know X1's use the "normal" CiC all the way up to into 2015... but "High-Fx" CiCs are used into 2017.

Premium map packs were not released with the rest of the EVO and Route map packs.

Would be best to check in RealOEM first. But I've gotten two out of 2013 E92's that are the desired 1c firmware version of the CiC for retros.

Any advice?

Problem resolved, I used a different USB drive and everything worked perfectly. Thanks to everyone that made this such an easy update.
