Has anyone used BMWhat to monitor coolant temp and engine temp?

I kept an eye on mine this morning using it (15 min journey to work) and it didn't go above 65 degrees.

Now I'm slightly concerned. Could also explain why the heaters are taking so long to warn the car.

I use the BMWhat App, and in the live monitoring you can see if the regen process is going in in there.
Ah ok. But difficult to tell if you don't have that wizardry though I take it

probably Jim, one of the reasons I bought the adaptor and the app. But like I said, the car feels lumpy when it's doing the regen.

16months and 40k later, I haven't noticed it once! lol
My car either hasn't done it and is about to pop or the fact I drive 90% motorway at good speeds means I don't feel it......

Surely it would have done one though right??

Should I be concerned?

Bit the bullet today and ordered a new stat and EGR from BMW

Been keeping an eye on my temps for a few days and I'm still only see a max of 76 degrees when pushing it and this constantly drops off as soon as I go back to sedate driving.

Shall be a fun job for next weekend.

Changed the main thermostat and the EGR stat today. Such an easy job to be honest, I'd recommend anyone giving it a go. Having had a Clio 182 before it's nice to have so much room to work in the engine bay.

Temps are now steady at around 92 degrees and the car feels so much better. Didn't drain any of the existing coolant and had to replace around 5 litres in the end.

Was it a new thermostat running at this temperature 84-86C? I'm concerned because on my 320d N47 it's running at 85-86C (rarely 87C) with a new one and before that with the faulty one it was reaching 88-91C although quite slowly and had bad mpg.

No, that was the original thermostat. New one brought it back up to 88 - 91C.

Given that do you think my new OEM thermostat is faulty?

It is possible. Or the tolerance is a bit wide. As it is OEM, does appear odd that it is faulty.
