E92 coupe - will 255/40R17 rub?

Hi guys - sorry for the perpetual tire question but, having browsed here extensively, I didn't find a post referring to this fitting a larger tire on stock 17" x 8" wheels (for my '08 E92 335xi coupe).
The stock tire is a 225/45, and, to achieve the same overall circumference, a 255/40 would be nearly identical. I want as much rubber between me and the bad roads here in New England, and I know the wheel will take the 255 fine, but will it rub in front when turning?
Thanks for sharing any experience!

Back in the day when I had original 17" wheels in my car, I tried and swapped the rears to the front and they were alright, but don't quote me on this) That was a 255/40 tire on 8.5" wheel et37 I think.
