New battery
I was doing some coding on the weekend and in the middle of the coding my dash lit up and the battery symbol came up. With the cold weather and waiting for my Cobb AP to come in the mail, I didn't want to take a chance so I went to BMW and picked up a battery. I looked up the part number and I cant find it anywhere. Not even on realoem. My question is will it fit an 07 335 e92.
The part number is 61212353810 and has a CCA/ADF of 720 and 90 HR@20AH. Also the SA said that I didnt have to code the battery, that it was a simple plug and play. Is this true? Thanks |

Ignite the same specs of the old battery you do not need to code it.

You do not need to code it but you should register it. Basically telling the car that it has a new battery and to run charge cycles for the new battery. You could do that with INPA yourself if you have a cable.

I just installed the same battery in my e90 2006 330xi (original battery had part number 61216946334. I was expecting to get 61218381762 from the BMW dealership but got the 61212353810 ($180) instead.
As long as the specs are the same from the previous battery, it should be OK. You will have to reset the battery adaptations though.

When you work on the car it will deplete the battery.
When you work on the car it will deplete the battery.
Doesn't matter if you are coding though that may take little more. When the thing car awake and it draws . 5 amps. That is why you need a power supply or some way to keep the charged up. A power supply is recommended on the coding boards if you are doing extensive coding BMW uses one to when they update your car. For short sessions just topping off your battery with a tender is OK. These cars are noted battery hogs that is why there are a lot of threads about battery tenders. |

My car won't start after replacing the battery,
My E90 battery dead and I went bought one from Costco, and now my car won't start. Any idea? do I have to do anything to start the car without registering the new battery?
