Dakota Cream Beige Leather Spray Paint Review
Hello all. For anyone wishing to touch up their discolored seats, I just got a can of "Color Bond LVP Refinisher leather spray paint - #1870 BMW CREAM BEIGE"
I want to let you know that the color matches exactly the Dakota Cream Beige on my 335i. In case anyone needs to redye their discolored seats. Have no fear. Take care to know that Dakota Cream Beige is not the same as the other Beige on BMW's. It must say "Cream Beige/Dakota Cream Beige" or else it will not match. Good luck to all. VT |

I'll do a before and after on my head rest. It was discolored because of contact with Lederpflege solution (a german leather cleaning solution that is INSANELY strong. DO NOT use that cleaner). That cleaner stripped off the dye and left a dark gash...so I will redye the headrest and also touch up other blemishes. Stay tuned for photos. I will try to do it before end of this week.

Pics as promised
Here they are. Looks identical to oem color to me.
1. Do not spray closer than 12 inches. 2. Build up your layers with patience. 3. About 5 layers should cover up all stains. I have no idea why the dark gash is revealed in case the leather dye is chemically stripped. But yeah, I believe the leather cleaner product was Einszett Lederpflege Leather Care. If you use that product, you better make sure you water it down and DON'T let any solution sit on your leather for more than a few seconds...you must wipe immediately. It literally acts like an acid. I would appreciate you taking a photo of the headrest pulled out on a 2009 e93 335i. Thanks.
Sports package seats. Electric headrests...could not find a way to safely remove them. So i will be waiting for your pics with much curiousity. Last edited by matreyia; 12-19-2014 at 11:40 PM.. |

Been looking for this post...
I contacted Colorbond trying to find out directly from them. I got this email back.... Hello *********, I really cannot say for sure, but that is a fairly high volume color for BMW. Also look at the Savannah Beige. regards / Malcolm btw... http://www.colorbondpaint.com/collec...preSelect=1870 And I believe the option for the leather is called..... Leder Dakota/beige (LCB4) if you have a printout of your cars options. I'm getting ready to check it out for my peeling center console. |

I know they say you can use it on leather but I think it would be best on the trim peices.
I'm going to talk to these people about leather dye.... http://www.leatherworldtech.com/Auto...art-s/1843.htm |

***Update***
I ordered a can of #1870 BMW CREAM BEIGE off Amazon the same day I posted about how it will wear. I don't have any before pics, but the drivers armrest, lower drivers seat and center console all look absolutely new. Color is virtually perfect. Texture is a little "flat" when first sprayed, but evens out nicely with use. Mine is a daily driver so it gets used a lot. Plus, I take my best buddy with me everywhere and the center console (where he watches for me when out of the car) has no wearing yet. This works very well on plastic trim pieces too. It's only been a month, but I am very impressed with this product. Kudos to the OP for introducing this to us - If/when I find a serious spot that needs touched up I will post pics or a short video. |
