330d Drive Belts

Hi All,

I have a 2006 E90 330d.

I want to replace the serpentine and power steering pump belts, along with the pulley and tensioner.

I am getting conflicting reports from Contitech and Gates (happy to use either).

RealOEM states part number 11287794070 for the power steering belt with a note of 4PK X 790.
Contitech catalogue states 4PK811, which is 21mm longer.
Gates catalogue states 4PK790SF, which appears to be the same length.

RealOEM states part number 11287790450 for the serpentine belt with a note of 6PK X 1836.
Contitech catalogue states 6PK1836 which appears to be the same length.
Gates catalogue states 6PK1835XS, which is 1mm shorter (cant see that making any difference)

Has anyone done this on a 330d and had issues with either.

My concern is that the power steering belt (which is stretch fit) will squeak if I go with Conti.

I can also get a complete gates kit for a reasonable price.

Thoughts/advice appreciated

cheers

Shaun

Thanks guys.

Good to know no issues.

Yeah, gonna change tensioner and pulleys too. What stretch tool did you use for the power steering pump belt?

Cheers

Hi mate,

Is that even if you're only replacing the belt? If so, why?
