Why would you ruin the best bang for the buck OEM infotainment system with some aftermarket trash?

I believe the avin needs the CIC to function properly. BMW is about to drop North American 2019-2 maps for the CIC and you can pop in a $100 combox for BT media and BMW Apps if you have a factory 6fl car. You can easily update your maps for free.

There are many reviews of the Avin add on's on the stereo
sub forum.
The downside it that a lot of them use the aux to piggyback
off the BMW idrive or pro radio.

http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=27

Waze or Google maps will always be ahead of factory nav's best to
mirror them .

You will also need a $100 most converter with the avin.

If you get the piggyback units the just route sound to the old system
via the aux . Since you have not removed the old system the sound just
goes through the aux and then through the factory system.
That is the piggybacking.

If you get a Avin Head Unit that does not piggyback then you will need
a Most converter.

Mirroring your phone so that it runs the Waze or whatever app on the screen
of the installed device(Head Unit ) or running that app directly on the head unit if it has the app installed.

I am sure it is the same device and you even get free DHL shipping. You are still missing the MOST adapter for your logic 7 car.

Keep in mind if you sell your CIC and take the $500 you would spend on this you can DIY a NBT Next retrofit.

https://www.bimmerretrofit.com/store...product_id=117

From Avin's website

https://avinusa.com/8-8-bmw-3-series...on-system.html

The Avin above uses the aux to feed the stock system audio so no most adapter needed. You notice they talk about an aux splitter so you can continue to use the aux when you are not using there device.

The reviews on the audio subforum for Avin have not been outstanding
to say the least.

The retrofit looks like a hard task tbh and for me personally I dont like how it looks for some reason but I guess from something from china its kinda expected not to be the best...

I am not a fan of the Bimmer Retrofit NBT kits. They use European units instead of US units and their customer support is not acceptable in my opinion.

The MOST adapter have you seen if some of these aftermarket units come with it or a solution to it, if not while installing the unit where would I plug it into?

If it piggybacks off my aux would I still need the adapter? I would think so for better sound quality?

Basically there is no way for what you asked to work.
The Avin feeds all the audio through your existing aux
to the existing system.
And as many know the aux has low fidelity .
The aux is in between your existing head unit and is
fed by the Avin. The amp is on the other side and fed
by the optical output of the existing head unit.
The only reason you would need a Most Converter is if
you where putting a whole new head unit and taking out
the factory one.

NBT is a cleaner solution.
More expensive to.

Yeah I like the cleaner solution part but not the more expensive tbh, right now I use the aux and a bluetooth adapter to listen to music on my phone so the quality would pretty much be the same if the unit uses the aux I would think.. also if I am going to get the avin or whatever I might as well just buy it from aliexpress since its the exact same thing that the avin company sells but its just re branded and put at a higher price
