Since you don't have the USB in the arm rest, you can run usb and aux wires there. Or just use bluetooth for everything. Every combox I have retrofitted has needed the one time software update. That can be done with a cheap ebay usb to bmw usb adapter hooked to the combox usb port.

Post the part number of your BN2000 to be sure.
Yes I do have iDrive. PN BMW 84.10-9 257 160 - 01
I don’t need USB. I’m ok with BT for everything.

At the hardware part is it really just a matter of rewriting 6 pins ?! No cut or soldering ?

That part number is an E series combox so you should be good. Yes all you need to do is move 5 or so pins from the MULF connector to the new combox connector (part numbers 61136913644 and 61136913626).

So I have a 2011 E92 with iDrive. I have bluetooth for calling only not A2DP. I have the USB in the armrest etc.

I've been told I'd need to swap my combox in the truck out to get the A2DP feature and have it coded to the car. Can anyone point me in the right direction in what new combox I would need??? Can't seem to find any threads for a situation like mine.... usually it's people retrofitting for buying that $1500 system.

Can anyone give me the parts number for the combox holder that is mounted above the glovebox? The only combox holder I was able to find doesn’t looks like the holder that is depicted in the BMW Installation manual that i downloaded here.

Thanks guys!

so basically you are combining the tcu and mulf connectors into one connector for the combox.
am i correct? ive seen a couple of pin out diagrams but im still not 100% sure
does anybody know the VO #'s that will need to be added/removed once hardware is completed
i have 08 ccc

Yes. Change build date in the VO to 0311, add $6VC. FA_Write to CAS and NFRM, default code CIC, NFRM, CMEDIA, and Kombi. Also disable BMW Assisit or you will get the SOS malfunction. Change TCM_Alive and TCM_Monitor in Kombi to nicht_aktiv.

Or you can add +TELD to VO as well to disable Assist/SOS.

Just did the Combox Telematics BN2000 retrofit in my 2008 with CIC already retrofitted.

I re-pinned the connector since it was much cheaper, You'll need the following to repin:
1 x 61136913644, BMW, connector, 26 pin $15 from FCP
1 x 61136913626, BMW, socket housing, 26 pin $1 from FCP

If you have TCU and MULF, you'll need to terminate one of the MOST connectors.
1 x 61136931507, BMW Diagnosis Interface Most, $24 from FCP
or you can use a generic one from amazon for $12 shipped: https://amzn.to/2LqIUvx

Only problem I have now is that I get the SOS Error everytime, I removed BMW Assist from the VO, tried adding +TELD, default coded CAS, NFRM, KOMBI, CIC, MEDIA.

Also checked to confirm TCM_Alive and TCM_Monitor in Kombi is set to nicht_aktiv and im still getting the error, so I gotta figure that part out, but otherwise everything is working.

The VO for M Drive is: S2MD, but I think it might be better to just go into CIC and set the M_DRIVE options to Aktiv

Did you figure out the SOS error? And how did you figure out how to repin ? I have an e70 and I’m trying to find out to work out which wires go where

Could you elaborate on your explanation of where you are moving pins? I have MULF only in my e70 and cannot find a DIY but I’m assuming it should be the same ?

will any Combox work for this as long as it is BN2000?

realoem lists a couple of part numbers with and without "Navigation System Professional" and am just wondering if I got the right box.
