Very creative.

If you remove the plastic trim and sand the mirror edges smooth, this has a potential to look real slick.

So satisfying to see that clean, gets my happy juices flowing right in the middle of my noggin.

Finally fixed my off-center steering wheel thanks to the DIY here. Couple adjustments/test-drives with the tie rods and we're back to center.

Installed new rear window seal along with trunk seal.

Old one was rotted out and and pieces were coming off.

Mostly when parking and backing up. I've always had them on my cars so I feel blind without them.

Yup, those two things could have been done in an afternoon. And with some spare time to go for a nice drive.

it was like that when I bought the car.
the original pull was all tacky and nasty. I can only assume someone used something to clean it that dissolved the plastic into this rubbery goo. Maybe someone had hand sanitizer on their hand or something.

I don't kow, but it was terrible and I hated it.

Yesterday:
  • Replaced the clutch and flywheel with the Valeo single mass conversion kit
  • changed engine, transmission and diff oils
  • shifter rebuild with urethane bushings
  • new guibo, new UUC black transmission mounts
  • zhp shift knob
  • new spark plugs
  • removed the clutch delay valve
  • replaced the large DISA valve
I had plenty of good help and we didn't run into much trouble. I had put the car up on jacks in Friday night, we got into work right about nine am Saturday, and we're test driving the work by supper time.

Solid days work!

How do you like the single mass flywheel conversion? Any chatter or change in shift engagement, shifting, etc?

Ironically, I had to leave for a trip same day but will try it out in about a week or so and update, but at-least it looks good for now!

I've only driven a few miles just as a test last evening, today I spent resting on my couch! Initial impressions are that this is a whole new car, zero negatives. My buds and I were joking all day about how all the parts we were replacing were designed to reduce NVH, and that I'd spent money with the intent of ADDING my own NVH. All that said, things are very smooth, if much more direct than before. Clutch engages closer to the floor, but not unnaturally so. The disk on the stock clutch was so worn that there was no feel left in its operation. With the volume of pieces that were replaced at the same time, it's impossible to pinpoint what had more or less impact on the whole experience of engaging and shifting gears, but it's better than I could have hoped for.

Not to steal the spot light but I felt a slight difference when I installed mine. Though I have an e93 so it's not the most ridged of the e9x's. I wouldn't reccomend buying a new one, it's not work $200+. I got mine used here for $80.
