BMW F10 Respray Mismatch? PLEASE READ

Hi all, hope you are all good. I recently got my BMW F10 resprayed as it had a scratch on front and back bumper. I look at it and i think im paranoid because i keep thinking it looks mismatched. Please see the attached photos and give me your thoughts. Thanks.

Seems fine in the pictures. But it's too hard to say with pictures unless it's super obvious. You will have to be the judge since you can see it in person. Keep in mind that different angles and directions will reflect light differently since it's coming from other places (i.e. the ground perhaps instead of the sky).

greys are difficult to match and plastic and metal will never match fully, even from the factory

Looks fine, like the above poster said plastic usually doesn't look the same as metal.

New paint will never match old factory paint, that's why you have them blend the paint over the panel lines to disguise the mismatch.

Looks good in the photos but photos are never as accurate as in person. The bumpers are both plastic while everything around it is metal so there will be a slight shade difference.

You could always take it to another shop and ask their opinion

no body shop would blend a bumper so theres a problem right there. its unesscessary as they aren't going to match anywyas

Looks like the paint matches fine, at least in the images.

Even factory bumpers don't look like they match a lot of the time. Bumpers can look darker or lighter even on the same bumper depending on your viewing angle or the lighting. Don't stress about it.

we need better pictures.

get a friend with a good camera, sunny day, and take a pic at the panel gaps and of the headlight washers (these stay on the car when they pull the bumper off to repaint it).

Looks like mineral grey, right? I have a lot of experience with this particular color lol.

From experience, I know it's possible to get a match that is effectively perfect (ie: only I can tell its a respray) but you will need a good body shop that is willing to spray multiple test panels and that is not cheap and takes time.

The match looks acceptable in the pics, but thats only in that light. How does it look in other light? Park the car in a dark garage and shine a LED flashlight on it. See how well the metallics match.

IMHO, it is impossible to judge this by merely looking at pictures. This has to be viewed in person in different types of light.
