BimmerLabs 328xi-330i Tune - Without 3-stage

Hello all, I have a question I havent been able to find an answer to through simple searching, and thought this would be the best place to ask.

First, info:
-2011 E90 328i Xdrive
-vin: NN85977
-odo: 160k+
-mods: Xdelete AWD to RWD mod

I am about to purchase an AFE or possibly turnerMotorsports CAI system, aswell as the euro IAT kit. (Not looking to start a debate the actual usefulness or which is better lol)

Both seem simple to install, however either actually require, or at least perform better with the 328i-330i tune.

So my 2 questions:
-Is it possible to run the tune without adding the 3-stage DISA? What potential issues could I run into?

-Is there another available tune that doesnt activate DISA, but does the remaining modifications? Or is it possible to mod the tune file and remove DISA activation?

Thank you all in advance for taking the time to read my issue

It'll work fine. you won't see the additional power of the 3 stage of course, but the 328i was neutered in more ways than one - reduced valve lift, leaner fuel at WOT, reduced timing, less aggressive VANOS timing, less aggressive ignition timing, etc..

There will be shadow codes for DISA valves, since they won't exist - but that doesn't actually hurt anything.

That's great news! By 'shadow code' I assume you mean no CEL but having some errors show up when scanned with INPA or ISTA?

I do plan on picking up the DISA intake eventually, however am going full DIY on this vehicle and am not quite sure I'm up to the job yet lol a few more smaller mods first before I tackle that on.

Either way, looks like some more toys are going in the 328

Truly thank you for taking the time to read and reply

Yes—shadow code will show up if you scan but won’t trigger MIL or any other warning.

With the 3SIM tune actually improve performance of a stock 328 (without the manifold swap)?

Haven’t been able to find talk about this or a dyno

Yes, Hass talks about it above. Again, it will increase power somewhat, but it will not be optimal without the 3SM.

Now that my remaining bolt-ons have arrived, I have one final question.

With my vehicle being Xdrive, will there be any adverse effects of doing the 328->330 flash?

Or is the DME software the same for either RWD or Xdrive, and therefor not an issue?

<edit>
Also, I ve found out there is a matching gm1912 transmission flash to match the 330i tune. Does anyone have access to these files as they've been pulled from bimmerlabs. Also, does anyone know if this is an acceptable flash to use for an xdrive model?

There should be no problem with Xdrive, Done this on my 328xi 6mt and had no problem. Also for the auto tune I believe there is a forum that has the download links not sure where

e90 328xi xdelete and 330i flash tune?

Hey I'm confused on if I can install the 330i flash tune for the 3 stage intake manifold after I've installed xdelete. is there a 330xi vs 330i flash tune or only one?

The engine tune doesn't know, nor care, what the driveline is doing.
