Looks like it's for LCI e92's I don't think it would fit my 2010. Opinions? Last edited by J. Dub; 05-05-2016 at 01:07 PM.. |

It's a POS $200 piece of fiberglass junk and wouldn't fit pre-lci without new headlights.
You even look wrong at a parking curb or small piece of road debris and that thing will be a throw away!

Well the $800 rep that was being sold on eBay was also fiberglass and there are 2 forum members running that bumper just fine.

You really want urethane so it can flex and give a little, fiberglass or FRP (fiberglass reinforced plastic) don't like temp change and don't take any type of a bump at all without cracking and splitting.
Typically they take a bit of work to get to fit right as the fiberglass is hand laid and has more variance in the fitment. In the end you end up spending the difference in price to get a urethane bumper on the body shop trying to make it fit, then you put a $400 paint job on it and one little tab and it is ruined and needs patched and repainted. Obviously not everything is available in Urethane, but you are better off with urethane for more money if you can get it. Fiberglass is just a really poor choice material for a bumper, even all fiberglass cars like the Corvette have Urethane bumpers.

I bought the rep Arkym for my LCI car off of eBay for $510. Almost wish I didn't now but I'm going to make it work. The only reason I saw this, is becuase the tow hook hole is filled in, as well as all the spots for screws and where the grille clips in. There are indentations so you can take a dremel and make everything work, it is just going to take some time dremeling out the spots so the kidney grille tabs have a spot to "click" into, the 4 screws on the ends have holes to go through, and the tow hook is an actual hole and not filled in. I bought it knowing it was FRP so although that wasn't my first choice, I was going to just go with it. The material does flex SOME, but no where near as flexible as urethane. You could get away with kissing a curb or parking block, but as long as you stop almost right away.

Is there any pre lci arkyms out there??? I'm also on the same boat as you and found both m3 and the lci version but not pre lci and i need to place an order on this asap as i gave someone too much of a love tap and got a couple scratches and busted the housing where the screws hold right off. Do you think theres any way of trying to fit the m3 or lci one on?

You'd probably need LCI headlights. SInce they're different than the pre-LCI headlights

i looked at a close up pic of the lci bumper section compared to the pre lci and in the corner its curved down then up again i was thinking maybe filling that section to even it out or something because other than the lower corner it seems to be the same size and shape but I'm not sure

i wasn't trying to spend more than 800 lol bumper would cost around 400 and my body guy said it would be around 300 for everything (assuming its close to normal fitment with little body work) and right now i just want this but leaning towards the 1m i guess since this doesn't come in pre lci sadly

If you guys try to fit the LCI bumper to a non LCI, you will need LCI headlights and LCI kidneys, that is it. But, you will have to do quite a bit of work regardless of LCI or not. The bumper looks good, but I try to be a perfectionist, and I'd say it is a 9/10 everything said and done. I'm worried as shit about driving it anywhere far though with potholes and how low it sits.
