BMW E91 335d badge placement template/measurements
I can't find measurements for where the 335d boot badge should go on an E91. I've managed to find some coupe measurements online, does anybody here mind getting the measurements:
a) From the bottom of the tailgate to the bottom of the badge b) From the furthest right of the badge to the right hand light Here is the back of my car where the badge was originally: I would really appreciate a template, if there was one? Or measurements would be great so I can create a template and post it here. Thank you James Last edited by jamesfawcett; 11-30-2018 at 03:13 AM.. Reason: Converted images to https |

Thanks Rasa, it's one of my pet hates of incorrectly positioned or wonky badges, it makes my skin crawl and shouts fake 335D to me. In my eyes it should be in the original OEM position or I can't sleep at night

When I removed my badges, I left a slight bit of the residue glue on the first 3 and the d as a reference to then fit the inner 3 and 5 before fitting both end letters. Pretty sure this isn't the perfect way to do it but it worked for me! Here's an image for help!

Thanks Lucifer mines a touring E91, but yours looks correct in that the bottom of the letters line up with the bottom of the BMW roundel.
I had my tailgate painted by my local BMW dealership, and this is where they thought was the correct place... I took it back not noticing when I collected it, then they cut into my paintwork taking the badge back off. Worst of all, they then stuck it on 20mm too low It's now there again this week being repainted. I've asked them not to stick my 335d badge on, I would rather do it myself. They do not have an official template... Hence me asking here Hoping someone with an E91 comes along soon |

I believe they are all the same measurements from centre of roundel & up from bottom edge, although why would anyone would want to advertise the fact that they're driving a dirty diesel???
Template below courtesy of 1quikws6, although it's a 328i spacing should be the same

Thanks Chappers - beat me to it!
I have my car back from the dealers all painted, I asked them for just the badge and I'll stick it on myself hah! Although I am quite liking the debadged look... |

Sorry Lucifer I would rather not say publicly but will happily PM you it! They also left my sump plug loose when changing my oil, and when changing my steering column under warranty left the two pinch bolts loose... oil everywhere and my steering was all over the place. They don't know how to tighten things up, nevermind putting a badge on straight.... I won't be going back there.

Looking good James, its obviously up to you but I think the debadged look is much better. I've taken the hair dryer to the badges on all the bmws I've owned, even the M5

Back in the 90's my mum bought an E36 Motorsport with the full M kit, it was debadged ( cant believe you have to pay more to have it without a badge!)
It only had the 318/6 engine but she booked it in at the dealership to get a badge fitted, she said prior to that everyone was trying to race her! |

This topic came up again on the facebook group, so I've added exact measurements to here:

when i bought my badge the letters are automatically spaced,,ie they are on one sheet and stick down all at once,,all you need is the measurements to place it in position
