Hole in valve cover 08 328xi

Found a dent in my hood then my car started to rev up so I looked under the hood remove cover to find this smh wtf

What, some fat chick sit on your hood or something? Sorry to see that. Looks like a new valve cover is in order. You have a 2008 328i. I checked on realOEM, and the valve cover part number for either the N51 or N52N engine is different than the part number for the valve cover if the N52 in the 325i of '06, which is an aluminum cover, not plastic. Does anyone know if the aluminum VC is forward fit compatible with the N51/N52N engine? Seems to me it would be.

What did the ignition cover (engine cover) look like?

I reckon someone's overtightened the engine cover that bolts into that part of the valve cover and it's caused that section to pull away.
