Software version

Can anyone let me know how up to date this software version is for the e92, I’d like to know if it’s ever been updated....

Secret menu 01 06

SW B3.41.C1

Got it booked in at a specialist for some coding but they said they could also update all the modules to the latest versions if required, depending how old they are to get all the latest enhancements.

Thanks

To check current level you need to use ISTA. Connect it to your car and it will show you the integration level.

What coding are you doing?

I have never known this before. Not being on the latest software does not stop coding.

Secondly, the kit does not require coding. Read the install intructions, its says this.

Hardly sounds like a specialist.

Maybe I chose the wrong words (now edited) the specialist stated they have two options, just to code the retrofit only or to update all the software to the latest configuration and code. If it’s vastly out of date then the software upgrade has other enhancements too, which may be worthwhile.

There must be various instructions about, the ones I have state coding is required, it also doesn’t sound too good supposedly without coding due to the EQ curve for the ‘stereo’ , so for £50 id prefer to get the full upgrade benefit!

Ok makes sense. I would personally still check what your current integration level is to ensure they actually update it.

Retrofit instructions here show no coding - http://www.e90post.com/forums/attach...hmentid=616552

Just bare in mind if you did do the hifi coding then the PDC volume will become very low. Plenty of info around on this.

What year is your car?

I’ve got the retrofit details from March 2010 which state the coding is required, I notice your guide is from 2009, so maybe the earlier kit ie for cars pre 2009 required no coding later cars did? Not really sure.....

I have read the pdc control goes low only when the speakers are wired in wrongly. Supposedly they are mislabelled on the alpine harness?

It’s a 2011 car

Fair enough, looks like a change to the instructions.

I would double check about the PDC. From various threads it does suggest coding will reduce PDC volume.
