emulators for e90 cic

Hi guys

can anyone recommend a good emulator for my 2008 e90 please?

what are the pros and cons of having an emulator?

I've just got my car back from a specialist and quoted me 300 as they said my hard drive is faulty which is why my sat nav option is greyed out. I'm an IT Tech and grieves me to pay that much when I may be able to learn and do it myself.

any help greatly appreciated guys

emulator will not fix faulty hard drive
you have to fix drive and after that you can activate navigation

I'm not sure that the drive is faulty though. if everything works as it should apart from sat nav greyed out would that not just be the fsc codes if it's be retrofitted before I bought car from dealership?

I think the cic unit needs a firmware upgrade and then codes reprogrammed and think this was easier for the specialists to do. they diagnosed the 'faulty hard drive' in under 15 mins?

so questions I have are the maps easily updated on emulator? any guides on how to install emulators? can I still perform programming once emulator installed? will emulator give me anything additional such as tv?

you can go to music collections and try to play/import or export music collections via usb port, if it will not show disk capacity and used space - hdd have a problem

yes, map update without problem if cic original fsc are not erased, and you know VIN of the car CIC came from
you generate map update fsc on that data and upload maps

Hi Guys

So i ran FSC TOOLS and got the following for the certs section. How would i rectify these? Im guessing these should all be accepted and exist for certain elements of CIC (eg sat nav) to work?

would an emulator still work in my case?
