I’m looking for something that will allow me to use my phone for GPS as well, I made this magnetic mount and I am aiming to do something similar for wireless charging. The cleaner the look the better.

1) Buy one of these for $20 - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...k_ql_qh_dp_hza
and one of there for $13 - https://www.amazon.com/Spy-Tec-Hardw...o-usb+hardwire 2) Remove the rubber pad in the console, and place the above charging pad in the console, where the pad was. 3) Install the hardwire kit with the add-a-fuse connected to a fuse with switched power. Run the micro-usb end into the console, and connect it to the charging pad. Note - the metal support around the fuse box is grounded, so for the ground wire you can simply drill a small hole in that, and attach the ground wire with a sheetmetal screw. 4) Add some sort of padding such as cardboard or foam around the charging pad up to the level of the charging pad, and replace the rubber mat. So all told, for less than $40 you can install wireless charging in the console in about an hour.

This is what i ended up coming up with. The main goal was to use torque on my second phone and charge it. I ran power under the steering wheel and up into the center console. Works great. Just need to cover up the logo on the wireless charger. If anyone is interested on how i mounted the wireless charger up to the magnetic mount i can add more pictures.
Pictures can be seen here. View post on imgur.com |
