Probably not the best time of the year to be selling a car
Congrats on the 335i though, good choice

Out of interest, what were the quirky things your car was doing pre-battery change?

The car had developed a stutter on tick over kinda like a slight misfire coinciding with a battery voltage drop of 1.5-2amps, the welcome & see you home lights had stopped working, rear fog lights out warning light on dash upon starting the car although the lights were working, sometimes when pressing the starter button nothing would happen for a few seconds & the I-drive screen would stay black for a few seconds upon starting the car, I also had a fuel pump plausibility code which wouldn't go away.
All of these issues have now gone

Yeah agree! Don't mind keeping the 330d for a bit longer, it's only costing about 50 quid a month extra to insure. Problem is we have 5 cars!!
The 335 is a properly nice car, although it's been ages since I've driven a BMW with run flats on it! They are coming off

I've gone the other way around from 335i to a 330d, missing the 35i badly 😔😔 330d is not a bad car mind, just not as fun, don't mind not having to fill up every 3-4 days tho😀 (was doing 25k a year)

What! How!?

I just spent £90 on 6 spark plugs and an air filter (all OEM, with 30% off at ECP) Oil + filter would cost me another £60ish on a good deal..how on earth did you get the rest of it for less!

In other news - I'm not going to buy the official BMW earth straps for my E91, I need 2 of them and they're £21/each!!!

Possibly because did most of the work myself... using a friends garage? He ordered the parts, i fitted them (under his supervision).. that's how much his invoice came to... I'm not going to complain

That's a significant discount on parts! (Prices I quoted were parts only).

Jan was expensive!

New rear discs / pads / handbrake shoes, glow plug controller and 6 new glowplugs. Swapped out the regular brake hoses for braided. And two new rear tyres. Oh, and renewed my ConnectedDrive sub.

£350 spent during January, replaced serpentine belt, battery & finally got the oil leak sorted.
Car seems to be running well & I didn't have to pay out on anything during November & December apart from the usual £40 a week on fuel.
I put some petrol in it yesterday £1.30 a litre for shell V Power

Painful, especially just after Christmas. Hopefully all will be well now for a few months

Brake pad sensor shouldn't cost very much, pity they didn't replace it when you was having the brakes done, but as you say it's another expense
