Either the fsc code was expensive or the dealer is really cheap, doesn't sound right to be honest. What were you quoted?
Quote I got for lifetime FSC code alone £65 forum & eBay based seller

Seller on eBay (BMWUPDATES) map & fsc code £74.99

BMW Rybrook Warwick £82.19 map & fsc code (pricing takes into account a BMW car club discount of 10%)

Trying to sort it for my dad for part of a birthday present (he drives an X1) so was looking at an quick easy 1 usb solution with no problems with BMW going forward bearing in mind it's still in BMW warranty.

OK thanks. I have an enet cable on the way but for now I'll give the usb way another try with a few different sticks.

Looking at the vehicle information, it seems it came with nav fitted (S609A Navigation system Professional) so from what youre saying it should work. Maybe its just me haha.

EDIT.
Success. Formatted the usb to default settings, put the script on there and the file was generated without a problem. Ran it through FSC and updated maps. Happy me, thanks for your help

Hey all,

Been reading up on the good work. I have a 2009 E91 with cic, is there a way to update the cic firmware with the crazy software requirement? I’m looking to update the maps but need to update firmware so I can use the usb in the glove box.

Many thanks

Open the torrent file with utorrent, when completed will get a file 15ish gb. Unzip that with 7zip, in there you'll see the right files. 2018-2 will be available very soon, may as well wait unless really desperate to do it

Sadly nothing yet, overdue compared to previous years. I keep refreshing various websites many times a day hoping it appears! Can't be long now...

I have no idea where this information has come from (and the poster never responded to my question asking him this), but on another thread here it has been stated that:

Hmmmmm, which is strange as the CIC system is still present in early F3x cars.

I'd be livid if they stopped maps for E9x series CIC so early, I realise CIC has been around a while but my E92 isn't even 5 years old yet and the F series cars with CIC are likely even newer. Maybe if they are stopping anything it's the earlier CCC maps that will go? BMW released a 2018 DVD for CCC (which was replaced by CIC in late 2008) so seems crazy they'd stop CIC considering how long they've supported the much older CCC...

I’m downloading the maps at the moment, I’ve got the FSC code so it’s just the USB stick I need. What memory size is needed on the USB? Thanks..

Thanks for the link!

Downloaded along with a 1 USB version from another site.

If anyone needs FSC codes, look in the navigation section on here, they are really easy to generate. All you need is a USB stick and laptop

Does anyone know what settings should be used for burning the maps on DVDs since they are not as ISO?

Try a standard data DVD but:
1) you'll need dual layer DVDs
2) unlikely to work if old firmware, if not on old firmware can use usb anyway so no point
I noticed a note on realoem mentioned could load map data with ista if old and really don't want to get firmware updated but never tried it and if going to all that effort I'd rather get the issue fixed than awkward workarounds

Any news on 2018-2?

Looked around the web and find nothing.

Driving to Croatia in 7 weeks and would like the maps to be bang up to date if possible.
