yep plug and play but I dont have it(wiring Harness) cause i only tow my Bicycles

Sweet. Since they are made to order i am gonna see if i can get a shorter receiver that doesn't stick out.

I got the execuhitch, completely hidden, works great. Pull a small utility trailer from time to time.

Receiver is not removable without removing entire cross member. The bolts that you see attach the cross member to a fore/aft running support bar.

Another forum member gave me this photo of the uhaul assy prior to being installed on his car. This photo would mislead you into thinking the fore/aft bar is part of the receiver but it isn't. I have added labels for clarity.

I want to emplore that you realize something. The execuhitch is a great product. Not downing it one bit. Axel showed me photos (one is attached) of where a small cut to the bumper cover had to be done to clear a portion of the execuhitch.

This uhaul required ZERO cutting PERIOD, NADA at least on my 2011 msport.

This was my exact thought as well. The way I looked at it was that I was dropping another $340 on a Thule bike rack on top of the receiver cost. So, the total outlay was either $1040 or $540.

I went with the more secure bike rack that supports bike by sitting on its tires rather than resting on its top tube of frame. This type of bike rack is more costly than "hanging" type. To each his own.

Amigos I spent a total of over $1200 for the hitch , Bike rack(bought the Soft rider since it extends away from the bumper and hood when loading) and 2 bikes, I'd do again cuase although Uhaul is cheaper it was not available for me at the time. Yes, Execuhitch you have to cut some under bumper and I have the NON sport bumper just in case. Execuhitch sent me at the time a photo of a 328 and we're 335 I informed Darrel about this dont know if they managed to get this fixed

I need to order a hitch stat, but I'm struggling here. I'm just not sure I want it exposed like it is with the Uhaul version. Will execuhitch sell the wiring separately?

If u want to buy wiring separate. Get it OEM from a euro dealer like schniedmann

Not sure who said 2 weeks. It wasn't me. It was 4 weeks from order date to on my front porch.

when you do the actual order, it says the hitch is custom made for the 335D and that it takes 4 or more weeks, if i recall correctly.

About 3 hours. I was sort of wading into the water and figuring out what needed to be moved and learning technique. I likely could repeat the process in under 2 hours. I removed my msport rear valence and it made this alot easier. If non-msport, a guy on the 'fest told me he had to flex his rear bumper cover pretty hard to get the cross member in. I had to temporarily bend a couple of the msport valance supports (skinny black rods) to get the cross member clear and onto the mounting studs. I then bent the support rods back into place. The bending was done with a pair of channel lock pliers.

For those that have the U-Haul wiring harness, do you guys have a wiring diagram for what wires on the tail lights i tap into? I purchased a used hitch\wiring harness, I called Uhaul and they are no help.

Sorry, I didn't do harness add on. Only using the receiver for bike rack. I know you already bought the uhaul harness but up earlier in thread, someone suggested getting OEM parts from Europe. I recall reading a real good DIY over on bimmerfest. Skip hitch part and follow the wiring splice in. You have to get parts from Europe as BMWNA doesn't want us pulling anything. There is a guy on here or 'fest that pulls snowmobile trailer with his black 335D. Perhaps he can help you.

I'm going to try the Draw-Tite 24857 for holding a bike rack. I've tried one of their other hitches on another car and it went smoothly. Has anyone tried this one? Their pix look exactly like the u-haul unit, but I think they ship from stock.

The fore/aft bar is got a dip in it by the way. That is to clear the urea tanks. If the draw tite bar fore/aft bar is straight, it will not bolt up to the rear cross member. On an unrelated note, I'm actually considering removing the fore/aft bar for urea system "surgery" above the bar. The bar might stay off after that. I will do a test with 2 bikes on the rack and see if the weight torques the hitch's cross member. Funny thing is my thule rack outweighs both bikes combined.
