I feel you on that one. I just can't take pictures of the swirls no matter how I try @_@.

Tip! First, get it as dark as possible inside, close the garage doors. Point the halogen at the paint then go into manual mode (if you have it) and focus on swirls. If you don't it helps to put something on the paint like a post it, right beside the swirls. Why? The camera wants to focus on the reflections in the paint, even crappy ones, putting something on the paint for the camera to focus on will help it pick up the swirls.

Yeah, I hate it. Although the reflections make my work seem flawless (the "FMINUS shot" as we socale90 members have come to call it ), I really want to show the swirls that I got rid of, and the random isolated scratches that remained.

Whew! It's 10:30 p.m. I still have half the car to polish, so I will take your tip to use right away

CG cleaner works great, but you dont have to worry about the smell for it will be lost after conditioning. CG conditioner in the bottle does not smell to great, but one you apply it you will fall in love with the product. I find that most people love the "new car" smell over any product that has a smell of its own. CG leather conditioner is designed to bring out the natural smell of leather, and not create a oder of its own. Just ask JerryR. When he came his car had a noticeable "new car" smell, but when it left it became even more potent.
