Vette, does the little warning triangle stay on the entire time the car is on?

The entire job took around four hours- but some of that time was spent figuring out how I was going to do the wiring and it takes some time removing the front bumper but it's really not a difficult job.

The warning indicator (low beam malfunction) only comes on for about five seconds after you start the car, then it goes off and remains off.

It should not affect the overall warranty however any malfunction with the headlight system would not be covered.

Its really not as difficult as it sounds. It just the front bumper cover that you remove. - It took me less than 30 min to remove the bumper cover.

+ 1.
I have removed my bumper twice once for my headlights and once for the ACS lip.

i talked to my service guy today and he looked into this so called "re-map" of the system so the warning light wont come on.......well he called BMW national and they suggested not to do it, because you would then hafta re-route a lot of wiring and also, he was unaware of being able to just like update it so it didnt go on.......so i really am on the fence here because of this

Why would BMW say not to do it?

Besides the warning light, what else would go wrong?

I think having the warning like for the first 5 seconds is a smal price to pay for the xenon look

What do you think Vette?

Manufacturers often resist and discourage any modification. This is not the best method of converting to the xenon but it is cheapest to get the factory look. The best method would be converting with the adaptive retro fit kit.
