Regarding the autobox fluid the only way to be sure is take a small sample and inspect it. It should be a nice red colour if its in good condition. If its not a good colour then change it. As said above time also degrades the oil.
The Americans are good at looking after their autoboxes, they have been using them more mainstream than us brits for donkeys years now. Have a search on YouTube there are countless videos showing how to inspect the condition of the oil in your box. |

I’m at 170k miles, had 3 red boost hoses and it needs doing again! :mad: so I wouldn’t replace until it needs doing.
Gearbox fluid / filter needs doing every 50 / 70k depending on driving style. Do bushes when they need doing. |
