Advice/Suggestion needed to cover up dealer badge

I removed this hideous dealership badge and there's a white residue in the area that was exposed, it's not glue, I have tried rubbing countless things like wd-40, adhesive remover. I'm not sure if this is clear coat peeling it feels dry/ashy when you rub your hands against it. Was thinking of covering up with perhaps a different badge/ or sticker. Any suggestions or advice? Thanks In advance

I would try Goo Gone and if that doesn't work apply a little heat to loosen up the adhesive.

If you look closely the white blemishes are outside of the area where the adhesive used to be. When I first debadged it I removed all of the adhesive. The white marks have been exposed outside of the badge I'm not sure what that is, it looks like peeling clear coat or something. I will try heat and goo gone

Try a cleaner wax. My favorite is Meguiars #6. I get it from Amazon but I have seen it in NAPA and the walmarts.

If goo gone doesn’t work, I would try to buff it out with a drill attachment buffing pad and scratch remover.

The cleaner wax may work, but you'll likely need something with more cutting power. Meguiars Ultiamte Compound is a pretty good consumer grade product (can't damage the paint) but if applying by hand it might take a lot of work. If you have a DA polisher and cutting pad, that would be your best bet.

If you don't have tools or products, take it to a pro detailer. They'll likely be able to use a cutting pad and compound and get it back to new again. It's pretty amazing what a polisher and compound can do.

edit: Wow, I just responded to a post from three months ago. Guessing the original poster got the issue sorted out by now.

How about you try a clay bar on it first, followed by buffing methods mentioned in posts above.

I used a drill with pad, meguiars compound, and polish. Did the trick!! The fade is gone. Thanks guys

I can't say this didn't cross my mind. Also while I'm at it, slap some vents on the fender, that'll really turn some heads
