My buddy is in the process of purchasing new rims for his 328xi. I was concerned about the offset

They are: 18x8.5 et40 and 18x9.5 et22 5x120.

I suggest checking on two sites to see if those are within the range of what BMW installs for E90s and what TireRack recommends for the vehicle for that wheel size.

The offsets for the fronts look a little too much and the rears too little, but check and see. Some members have gone a little further than what TireRack recommends by fender rolling and adjusting camber. Buying rims specifically guaranteed by the wheel manufacturer or seller to fit is always better than just buying a generic rim by size.
