Looking for some advice please?

My cousin has a 320D OL (E90), year of construction 2009 with the business CIC system (single slot DVD instead of Double slot) which appears to be running the CCC navigation menu software or at least that's what it looks like........

There is no USB, no HDD and he has to have the Maps DVD in for the Navigation to work, it also has the smaller screen as well and he was advised it was the business edition rather than the professional upon purchase for the BMW Stealer/Dealer.

He questioned the lack of a USB port at the time and was advised it didn't have one but they offered to retro fit the Ipod adaptor to the CD Changer for him. Which was done and works (ish) lol

We have done some research and just keep coming to the same conundrum, of is it CCC or CIC and can we upgrade it/ change the Software to what is should be if its CIC running CCC software like we think?

The menu when loaded is the old CCC one, but with it being the single slot unit it makes me think its a CIC system........

I assume he would need to buy a USB cable and USB port and wire this into the unit if it is indeed possible?

he can either install full cic or look for cic-mid which went in 2010 MY

When you say install do you mean software install or physically buying another cic and put it in??
