I’ve got everything ready and a spare set of knuckles I’ll have machined instead of the calipers. Does anyone know if apex arc-8 17x9.5’s would work to clear the calipers or does it need to be a set of 18’s?

Hello, I've read through this thread (most of it) and cant find the answer to my problem. I have a 07 e92 335i and I'm trying to install a pair of front f30 calipers. So I have 370mm front rotors from r1 concepts and when I put the caliper on, the holes from the calipers are a few mm's from lining up with the bolts on the nuckle. Any advice? Did I get the wrong size rotor?

The threaded insert or bushing on the calipers are a few millimeters back. The bolts will not go in cause the caliper sits just a little too much toward the back of the car. Hope that explains it better. It seems like the rotor diameter is too big but I measured it and they are 370mm. I also tried mounting the caliper to the stock 335i rotor on my car and it fits with almost no room to spare.

Sounds like you got calipers for 340mm brake rotors. Bmw performance calipers are different than base 335i calipers. https://www.turnermotorsport.com/t-brakes-F30-Brake-Differences

Seriously reconsidering these as an option for BBK
Anyone know if these will clear Stock M-Sports (Style 193)?

Also, I will be going full M3 Suspension in the rear for LSD and upgraded axles; someone mentioned earlier in the thread that Rear M-Performance are direct bolt on to M3 knuckle; can anyone vouch for that?
That way I’d have even more incentive to keep the M3 rear knuckles when I drop the subframe instead of swapping over my 335i knuckles/brakes. I’d save me the hassle of pounding half-shafts

You are correct, I have one 340mm caliper and one 370/380mm caliper oh well... I didnt notice the difference between them until now. Thanks for the reply.

I was hoping others could chime in to suggest a usable rotor; hoping the e90 M3 ones would fit and I would have myself a setup but maybe that’s a little too wishful thinking

Too wish full. F non M and all E including M have same offset. You will need F M rotor. That is 370 or 380mm. Bigger than your 340 front.

-If retrofitting the rear calipers, this requires custom machining and custom brackets, and the e-brake function is lost. M master brake cylinder is also needed.
-These also require a minimum of 18" wheels (why is that, when the 335i has larger rotors and can accomodate certain 17s?)

You’re thinking about the base M-Sport F30 Calipers/Rotors which are the same size as M-Sport e9x Calipers/Rotors (340mm/330mm). These will accommodate stock 17” wheels
The F30 M-Performance Calipers/Rotors are the 370mm/345mm everyone is trying to fit and require machining and/or special brackets for the rear calipers. These require certain 18” or larger wheels

If you’re looking just to upgrade to M-Sport size Brakes/Rotors on your 328i, I would honestly just suggest going with the e9x 335i stuff unless you really want/need the F30 M-Performance stuff

Have just fitted 340mm fronts on a 325I/330I e91 LCI touring with a standard MC. All is good a great upgrade...

But Im wondering at what point is it advantageous to code for sport braking? And is there any more info as to where this coding option is?

You can code it yourself, or remotely or take it to the dealer/INDY and should be $50-$75 and just ask them to code for performance brake option. Was a standard option on these cars and I think it impacts the applied balance/ABS, and/or traction. You would do the same if you put on the factory option of the performance brakes (135 brakes - same, minus better color options).

I've read this thread several times, have already upgraded front brakes with 340mm setup (my 18" didn't fit 370mm, so I had to sell them and buy 340). Now I'm going to upgrade rear. I've bought Zimmerman discs from e60, found a man who produced eccentric bushes for me, and now I'm ready...
But! I have one question to those of you, guys, who used bushes - how did you centered them properly before pressing them in? And how did you pressed them into the caliper???
