How is it douchey when we're just stating what we do for a living, and don't get into a salary debate or bragging war?

It fueled my passion for the game even more when I used to travel with friends that have done this for a living for a few years. All of them make at least mid-high 6 figures, a lot of them well into 7 figures, and all under the age of 30. They get up any time of the day, sleep any time of the day, buy what they want, and travel where they want to go. A lot of them moved to Mexico, Canada, Europe, or Asia to still play.

I started with 2 tables, then 4, 8, etc. There's a few programs with hotkeys enabled that allow you to just press a button to fold, check, and bet a prearranged amount you want so it made it somewhat easier.
have you ever hung out with any of the big names in online poker? like Hac and Z Dang (just come to mind because i know they live in the area)

I sure have! They're still around the area. They strictly play cash games though for the most part and not tournaments. It is absolutely mind-boggling and insane the stakes they play at. The brothers have both lost $1M+ in one day before. They've started focusing on entrepreneurial endeavors since Black Friday. Dan Cates lives in MD but moved out of the country to still play, and Christian Harder is also from MD but travels the live circuit now. Dan Cates made almost $6M last year on cash games. Christian Harder is a top online and live MTT grinder. They all took poker seriously in the "Golden Age", which is when players were absolutely horrible and fish were just giving away their money. Unfortunately, I was just one of those fish who just dabbled in it.

I think we all have cool cars and clearly we make enough to afford them. IDK this is the DC area and people love to name drop, this kinda feels like that. So when I hear the DC egotism come to play i lable that douchey.

But to each their own, no biggie.

Where are names being dropped? Where did we show our DC area egos?

i would say its use being interested in what other people do for jobs/careers. We share a common interest/passion in cars(bmw) and many of us are just car people in general and just curious to see what other people do in their daily life as a job to afford the hobbies they have chosen. I see absolutely nothing wrong with this =)

haha.... I beg to differ. The M3 or even the E92 335 are such pure joys to own and drive that I think the lable is slowly peeling away. I for one own a 335 and I purchased it because its sexy and a few mods later is a beast of a motor.

No worries If you want to see this thread live up to that potential, look at the NY/NJ/PA/CT thread titled the same thing.

BMW owners are #2 douche bags. #1 ranking goes to Infiniti G35/37 owners.

I have been hearing that people driving BMWs are dbags... I dont get it, it's a car and it's one of the worst investments you could ever make so why is it a dochy thing to do to drive a BMW? People lose tons in stocks and bonds, buy houses that lose their value faster than an IT stock in 2001...I say they are jealous, I appreciate the great luxuries in life, when I see someone with a nice car I dont hate, I appreciate the taste and the beauty of that car. Haters are going to hate... And if anything for the person that stated this thread is a bit douchy.. Everyone has an ego doesn't matter where you are in the world. Ego is a great thing as long as it's used in a right way.
