335i "Logic 7" vs. M3 "Enhanced Premium" Sound

Can some of the 335'ers and M3'ers on this forum that know the differences please chime in? Before I ordered my 2009 E92 335 thats in transport currently, I had thought the 2 Stereo Upgrades would be the same and love the way the Silver Speaker Faceplates on the M3 Premium Sound pkg enhance the interior appearance, but our 335's dont have that.

So anyways, can someone that has seen and heard both packages state the differences? Thanks !

Below is a picture of the M3 Enhanced Premium Sound Package .

NOTE the silver faceplates on the Speaker Grilles, AND the smallprint description of the package varies considerably different from that of the 335 Logic 7.

Enhanced Premium Sound $1,900

With a power output of 825 watts the Enhanced Audio System is the most powerful sound system ever offered in a BMW. This system features high-quality hi-fi components including 16 high-performance loudspeakers featuring Neodym magnetic drive and exceptionally stiff Hexacone diaphragms, a digital 9-channel amplifier and precision crossovers to guarantee unparalleled sound quality. DIRAC live signal processing technology corrects the impulse response of each loudspeaker, facilitating linear and accurate sound reproduction inside the car. The resulting true impulse response during sound reproduction enables both the driver and all passengers in a BMW to enjoy an extraordinarily multi-faceted and vivid sound experience previously only achieved by high-end home entertainment systems.

I believe the M3 enhanced premium sound system is equivalent to the BMW Individual Program sound system on the 3. At least it sounds that way from the description.

I odered the silver M-3 speaker grills and installed them when I changed the door speakers. They are really easy to install but you do have to remove the door panels.

I always wondered what the difference was between the systems.

Spec wise, I would like to know. Or are they the same?

They are not the same.

The 335 Logic 7 option adds 3 speakers and DSP to the same basic system that comes in the car, for $875.

The M3 "Enhanced Premium Sound" changes a lot more components, uses more expensive speakers, crossovers, and amplifiers, and costs more than twice as much - $1900.

and there is a night and day difference in the bass depth and even treble especially at higher volumes...

test both systems, by having your dealer play your fav CDs in both vehicles and you will definitely notice a difference!

My old E90 325i had the Logic7 and my current 335i has this Individual sound system. The Individual system has more clarity and better timing, but otherwise I haven't noticed a huge difference over the Logic7 system, and neither have my audiophile friends.

Can I use "enhanced" M3 speakers in my standard 335 E92 system? What else would I need? Do I need to rewire or can I reuse the plug harnesses? Anybody know?

No. the impedance of the Individual audio speakers is double the standard/Logic7 speakers.

You will be reducing the volume level of your system in half if you keep your OEM amp.

Is upgrade to the enhanced premium amp an option for those with Logic 7 OR Hifi amps?

Do you know how differend the DSP in this amp is vs an MS-8?

If the question is about retrofitting the EPS system to an existing Logic7 or HiFi system then anything is possible with the right amount of money and time. Is it worth all that money and effort? No, IMO.

If the question is about ordering the EPS from factory at the time of ordering a new 3-Series then yes, it is possible thru Individual.

The EPS uses DIRAC as its DSP processing. MS-8 uses Logic7.

I have the BMW Individual High End Audio System, what you guys call Enhanced Premium , on my 335i.

I think it is not worth the cost. Playing around with the equalizer helps quite a bit but ONLY at higher volumes.

No matter how i set the equalizer, it sounds like any regular factory sound system at lower volumes.
