E92 Muffler Modification!!

Here are some pics of my Muffler Modification on my e92 coupe. Removed all the perforated pipes and replaced with steel pipes and put back half of the dog hair and re-welded tops back on. Car never sounded so good for just a simple mod. My technician took about 3-4 hours doing it for me but very happy with end result.

why not just a muffler delete?

Ive heard what a muffler delete is and its just too loud.. this sounds like i bought an after market exhaust system and installed it...and i didnt want to hack the oe system

+1 i just removed the padding and left the pipes alone and its sounds great

thats cool wonder how it sounds cause i put some of it back in there just so it wouldnt sound tinny but i was curious to see how it sounded with none of it in there

3-4 hours of labor is at least a couple of hundo, for $500 you can have 335IS mufflers...

I own a chain of Midas locations thats my shop i had one of my technicians do it for me so it was FREE.99 lol

How was he able to get around the whole thing to weld it all up? It looks like there wouldn't be enough room unless you cut the other side of the muffler off also.

Also, is it possible to just divorce the two mufflers completely and just cut the pipe within each muffler and weld a cap on having two seperate exhausts instead of the crossover?

no point of doing that really..i cant see it being impossible though

it gives you a way better sound gives you the crackling and deep exhaust sound on acceleration and the best part is that when your on the high way cruising you dont hear it at all and sounds normal

Pretty sure you just hacked the oem system by removing all the dog in it and weld piping in it no? Muffler delete sounds great in person and do not regret it one bit. I'm sure yours sounds great as well but if you were worrying about hacking the oe system i'm pretty sure you did. Might also be way of not getting pulled over for you. And also just removing mufflers doesn't cost much of labor either.
