Recently brought 2008 325i (n53)

Hi Everyone

i know this is an old topic but i have recent brought a 2008 325i with the N53 engine (brought on Saturday).

The car has 47000 miles on the clock and i have the issues which lead to HPFP faluire. long turnover on start up, idle bouncing around and the half engine warning light/reduced power.

i have a OBD code reader and the faults are leading to this also.

I am going to take it back to the dealer on Tuesday after bank holiday for them to look at it.

I also read through the service history and it looks like this was replaced in 2015 at around 30000 and 17000 miles ago.

How long are these things expected to last after being replaced?

Cheers Matt

Matt, the replacement HPFPs that were fitted in the recall have generally proved reliable, so it may be other issues that are causing your problems. Injectors are a likley culprit. But hopefully your dealer will run a full diagnostic to pinpoint the fault codes and give you a correct diagnosis.

Keep us informed...
