Part-Exchange Valuation

Hey y'all.

Currently thinking about p/x'ing my E90 for an F30 and wonders if I got the p/x valuation I want right...

318d Sport Plus
Alpine White
Registered December 2011 61
13k miles
Leather Interior
DAB
Bluetooth & USB
Heated front seats
Climate Control
5 years/60k Service Package

I am the 2nd owner having previously been pre-registered by BMW UK themselves for the 1st owner.

Having a look on Autotrader/AUC I have seen one identical to mine registered Jan 2012 and 15k miles priced at £19,995.

One dealer offered £16,500 p/x and I politely declined.

I thought an offer of £18,500 for p/x would be right, now please tell/advise me if I am not asking for too much? The F30 I am looking at now is priced £23.5k and looking to get the total under £23k.

If a dealer offered you £18.5k as a trade in he would need to mark your car up for profit.

It would end up with your E90 too close to forecourt price of the F30 and nobody would buy it.

Can't see p/ex being above £17k.

£18,500 is more like what it would be worth in a private sale.

A January 12 Car is booked at more than a December 11 Car so yours would be worth less than the one advertised, Dealer will want to make money on the trade in as well as the car he's selling so I don't think £16500 was that far away unless the F30 was well overpriced.

Parkers come up with £ 17,800 trade in with £20,300 for the dealers forecourt.

18k seems like the figure to go for.
