So I am running 100% e85 occasionally. Everyone knows added power blah blah blah. But what bad does it do to our engines long term? Any advice or personal stories would be much appreciated. thanks

Do you have a proper tune for it, port injection conversion, upgraded fuel pump, upgraded fuel lines/filter?

I heard it is not the engine but the fuel delivery system components as ethanol attracts water and the result is corrosive?

No i dont need any PI- I have the helix Overdrive installed. Upgraded LPFP. What kinda lines and filter do I need?

Although I do not have any direct experience regarding this, my understanding is similar:

If the fuel lines (and associated parts) are made for normal fuel, the ethanol degrades the rubber/plastics of those parts at a higher rate as compared to normal fuels.

In other words, the fuel parts should be "E85 approved/tested" in order to have normal reliability.

Some say that ethanol isnt like the ethanol in the past and most cars nowadays are built to handle the corrosion ethanol causes but it is still recommended to run a full tank of regular gasoline to flush it out every now and then

In terms of getting e85 supported fuel components, you're out of luck when it comes to the DI injectors and the hpfp. E85 creates quite a bit of load on the HPFP and a mechanical pump can only spin so fast which is why the VTT shotgun, PI, helix overdrive all exist. You could argue e85 causes more blow by and thins out oil but so does gasoline. I've ran e60 for 3-4 years with no new issues aside from the standard hpfp/injector replacement.

No thanks, i love my shotgun. Rail pressure is solid. I was running 100% e85 but there isnt much of a gain to make the mpg hit worth it. I daily the car.
