and i dont have thousands to spend on lawyers.

Obviously, the best option is to have some other dealership warranty it for you.

Do the dealers have a network that once your warranty is voided, they track it and can be looked up by every dealer?

Junk yard? There have been some recently reported crashes, where the cars have been listed as totaled.

And if you can find it cheap, maybe Matt or someone else here can install it for you.

Just trying to help by adding a new option.

Find an independent BMW repair facility with a good rep in your area and have them replace it.

He will still have to pay money for it. The pump alone cost almost 2 thousand dollars. The labor is intensive as well, it takes about 2 hours to replace as the intake manifold has to be removed.

BMW knows that this is not an isolated case, and there are a good amount of other people with this issue. Fight the fights that need to be fought, in this case..this is one of them.

Oh, and don't forget to tell your dealership that they lost a customer. The HPFP is a common and well known problem in the US.

I had my car serviced at Pacific BMW before. They had couple stock cars with HPFP problems at the time, so I'm sure they are aware of this.

Talk to a lawyer. Isn't there a TSB for the HPFP? If it's a TSB, then you are entitled to it whether or not you have a warranty.

But on the TSB, it does state "Covered under the terms of the BMW New Vehicle Limited Warranty"

If you really would have to pay for the pump consider that parts like HPFP's, Steptronics, engines, etc. can be repaired as well. E.g. ZF has a full service network in Europe, Bosch as well.

I went to another dealership after my first dealership wrote in the notes "customer has many performance mods on vehicle". The next dealership didnt have these notes or could read them. Apparently its just within the service departments records.

That being said, the second dealership I went to has already done 3 fuel pump replacements on stock cars. My SA said that no matter what I have on the car, they will replace it under warranty.

You just have to find the right dealership I guess. Kinda helps that 2 employees at this one also have PROcede in their cars.

When you hook up a car to a BMW service computer the dealership has the option to send the data to the BMW factory. It depends to the dealership whether and when they do.

Ya go to another dealership. Bring the TSB with you and point out you believe it is a HPFP issue.

Any chance Shiv might help with this? There is nothing linking use of PROcede to HPFP failure, and a ton of data indicating stock car problems with HPFP. It would be great if someone at BMW NA could discuss your case with you -- this seems like a gross injustice. I wonder if the first HPFP job is under a separate warranty.

I would get focused on asking around for some SA help at another dealership. Hell, I would go and hang out and wait on one. Meet up with them. Bring him some beer and a few bucks. Something to show appreciation for any help he may be able to give. They can do what you need if they want to. GL.
