Official Cobb Pro-Tune Thread

I thought it would be helpful to start a thread dedicated to the Cobb Pro-Tune that is offered by almost 20 authorized Pro-Tuner's around the United States. A list of those Pro Tuners can be found here:http://www.cobbtuning.com/Domestic-P.../70754.htm#BMW

For those of you outside of the United States, a list of international Pro-Tuners can be found here:
http://www.cobbtuning.com/Internatio.../70751.htm#BMW

With the increasing popularity of the Pro-Tune and e-tuning, it will be helpful to open up our minds as to what types of different custom tunes are available and to read reviews of those who have received custom tuning.

Please let the community know what type of custom tune was performed (i.e. meth, E85, Race Gas, Upgraded Turbo's etc.) and post your thorough review and dyno numbers, with a baseline, if possible.

+1.

Very interested in these results.. I've been considering trying out COBB, but I want to see some results from FBO/Meth ProTuned cars before I decide to pull the trigger..

I got mine done at Cobb SoCal, just a modified 91 pump map (numbers from their Mustang dyno):

Stock (with bolt ons): 289rwhp and 313rwtq
OTS Stage2+Sport: 346rwhp and 407rwtq
Custom: 362rwhp and 428rwtq

I'd like to get an E85 map, but there is no station within 20 miles so it's not at the top of my list.

those are still substantial/impressive gains from OTS mapping!

Definitely, especially on crappy CA 91 and only having an axle back exhaust, not full back. Plus the guys at SoCal are awesome to work with, had a great day.

Thanks for the contribution Skinrock. I had an appointment at PRS in Orlando a couple of weeks ago but we were having issues with my car. I plan on a 60/40 93/E85 map. I will report back when I get mine figured out.

There are plenty of people that have been tuned by Pro Tuning Freaks. It would be nice if people contributed to this thread...

coming right up!

I never saw this thread, I am in the process now with Dzenno @ PTF with a monster S1+ E50 Map. Logging v2 tonight. there may be one more tweak and sure by v3 it will be dialed in.

in a couple days I will post.

ProTune MAP consists of ACN 91 mixed with E85 pump. approx. 47/53 - 91/E85 to get E50. based upon Shell V Power 91 consisting of 10% Ethanol.

It would be nice if at least pro tuning freaks were to post up logs of different setups, i.e. different hardware being used (FBO, just DCIs, with and without E85, etc.) even if they were anonymous to boost their brand and reputation with real life results.

I'm going to Pro-Tune Dzenno's car as soon as he gets it back together

I hear he lost his head somewhere.

I'm working with Jake@PTF to get my sedan tuned on 52% ethanol mix. Currently my car is feeling better and better with each revision and hoping to have some data once we feel confident that we are done. I plan on running it at the track to see if I can shatter my personal best of 12.5@111mph with the only difference being the custom e85 tune.

I know, its exciting..

I am experiencing a noticeably huge difference from S1+ Agg. OTS 402 w/20% Ethanol.

My dyno run (Dyno Dynamics aka heart-breaker) is scheduled for Wednesday next week, so as of now all I got is Virtual Dyno for results. S1+ E50 Dyno Delta from Fully Stock baseline run next week. I know its only S1, but that's what I wanted until CPO is done and 1st SMOG.

I have never been to a track, just one COBB 1/4 mile run. LOL . After this is done I will for sure give it a try for shits and giggles.

I've done my pump gas pro tune with Dzenno@PTF. It was a blast, a true learning experience and I enjoyed every moment of it as I finally learned some technical tidbits about the car I drive and enjoy daily. I have not had a chance to dyno yet but the car is way more response after the pro tune and feel stronger throughout the RPM. OTS maps were also amazing from stock but this took it up noticeably further. Hopefully some local guys will organize a dyno day soon and I'll be able to hop on to see my results as well and share here with the rest.

Sorry off topic, but take a look at my post in "How do you mount your COBB"

just got it in today and worked perfectly while doing a log. With all this pro-tuning i needed something a little more "user friendly" than my lap.

I'm also getting tuned by PTF, pump and E50 maps. The pump is done, I have a ton of logs but I haven't had time to do a same day compare of OTS vs PTF pump map.

Actually, I was more eager starting the E50 blend map but after trying the very first blend map, my clutch started slipping during WOT. There is just that much more torque. So now I'm waiting for my HPF stage 2 clutch.

Once my clutch is installed and broken in, I will probably do a couple consistent runs on OTS vs PTF pump map before proceeding on to E50.

By the way, 9 gallons of E85 + 7 gallons of pump will equal to about E52. Nice round numbers to remember when going to fill up at max capacity.

I got pro tuned by Brentuning on Monday for e85. I have AR 3" dps, injen dci, and bmw perf exhaust. Bren got 502wtq and 445whp out of my 07 ololn a dynapack. The car drives exactly as it did on cobb stg2 but good lord when you mat it! I can't wait to install my charge pipe/tial/er fmic when i find the time, it was evident that the stock parts are holding the car back. 21psi in this car with 13* timing sounds AMAZING lol
