LED Angel Eyes Problem :(

Purchased some LED 7000k angel eyes off of eBay a couple weeks ago and they've been okay. For $40 my expectations weren't sky high but oh well. They are great at night but they aren't visible in the day. But that's not the problem. I think every one knows that when you turn with your headlights on the inner bulb lights up and helps extend visibility to the left or right. The annoyance is that the inner bulb is still Xenon yellow, so it looks pretty ugly next to the LED white lights. I'm not sure if this is able to be fixed by coding, or if my angel eyes are at fault or I need to replace a different light to change the color of that inner bulb (my fogs are still OEM ). I like the feature, but not the color

Here's some absolutely crap iPhone pics I just took.

Daytime lights (they fill up, iPhone just couldn't focus)

Regular lights on, wheels straight (it's white I promise )

Lights on with wheels turned

I think if you drive in the manual low-beam mode, the turning lights don't come one. They only come on when you turn the headlight switch to the Auto mode.

Correct me if I am wrong

Haven't tested this, but if it's true, what a bummer. I love the auto mode. Well I guess it'd be a good thing too if it's fixed

Those are just a normal bulb H7, you should be able to get a 7k color bulb for those so that they are a similar white to your LED's, something like this http://www.amazon.com/Nokya-Arctic-W.../dp/B0013I5WN8

The light you are referring to is the H7 cornering bulb on the LCI's. You need what is in that link. It's a bulb replacement

This may be stupid but where are these installed? Is it near the angel eye bulb or in the actually headlight? A video or picture will probably clear this up.

That's too much of a hassle then.. Do you know if I just put it in manual low beam mode then will that yellow xenon light not show up when I turn? (rather than having it on auto-light mode)

They're located on the top of your lights and can be accessed from under your hood. They're a tiny H3 bulb and very easy to swap for one that will match your AEs.

I can confirm that for an E92/93 Pre-LCI, and the E90/E91 LCI, you use an H3 bulb for the cornering lights. I am also 99% confident that the E92/E93 LCI also uses an H3 bulb for the cornering lights.

Yah, or alternatively you can enable the cornering light option in iDrive so you can turn it on and off in the settings instead.

I can't disable it on my I-drive This may seem stupid but where exactly is the headlight access on an e90 lci. There are 2 things that look like covers right next to each other, but never had the balls to yank at anything. Thinking about getting lux or mtechs. Any pictures of it?

To change your bulbs for your angel eyes, you can only access it through the wheel well. You have to take both wheels off to gain access and remove the entire wheel well cover (kinda complicated) so I just took it to my mechanic and he did it for $40. Saved me a couple hours of confusion. It's not fair because if you have an E92, then you can change the bulb through the hood in a matter of minutes.

I'm still unclear on how to change the H3 bulbs though... Can someone explain?

You have got to be kidding I thought LCI e90s were accessed through the hood too

I have replaced my cornering bulbs (E90 LCI), and they are most definitely H3's.

Nope! It is done through the hood! If you look at the top of your xenon headlights, you'll see a rubber seal that is installed on top of them. Simply pull up the seal (it comes off very easily) and you now have access to a compartment with three screws. Simply unscrew and replace.

http://www.highperformancebulbs.com/nost2cowhh3t.html <-- I have these in my cornering lights, and they're pretty much perfect. The color is a pure, pure white (tint vs. colored glass makes a huge difference!) and I've had no issues with the extra draw from the bulb. Given that they're only on for (at max) 30 seconds at a time, it's nothing to worry about. I've kept tabs on my car, and it's taken very well to the bulbs.

Also, on the E90 LCI, you can change the bulbs by opening the hood. You don't have to take the wheel wells off. Follow the PDF instructions on the LuxAngelEyes.com website for the E90 LCI, and it explains very well how it is done. It takes a little time and patience, but it's not that big of a PITA.

FUUUUUUUUUUU**. I posted two threads about installing the angel eyes I got and 3 different users told me I had to go through the wheel well. Why couldn't you have been in a few weeks ago

Any clue on how to install the H3's? And also the link you posted to those H3's are 5000k, but my headlights are 7000k. Any recommendations on a 7000k H3?
