Finally heat wave broke around here and was able to spend some time detailing the e91. Wanted to show you all the e82 brake kit I had put on recently. Looks awesome and works better than stock.

They were a little beat up with a shitload of brake dust built up and I thought to repaint them but I'm glad I didn't. Suits the e91 perfectly.

That looks really good and has me reconsidering whether I'll paint my e82 set.

Do you mind posting a full length profile shot?

Freakin sick.

I'm gonna have to really think about whether to paint mine. I think the phoenix yellow will pop against my blue, but that grey/silver looks really clean.

Thank you!

Not completely. Rear calipers don't make full contact with rotors but only by a small margin. E82 rotors don't fit e91. Parking brake still works fine so we did not see an issue there. Front is a direct replacement with the correct rotors.

Here are three decent videos to watch on adding 135i brakes to an e91:

The E82 135i setup was also used as a base for the BMW Performance Brake kit. It was painted Phoenix Yellow and had some other bits in it like fancy drilled/slotted rotors, backing plates, etc. Fronts are still available new but rears were NLA last I checked. AFAIK 135i and BMWP Brakes are identical in terms of fit. Heavy track use can lead to rotors and caliper pistons cracking according to a few folks.

Another option is to run the 335i calipers. These are have superior performance to the 135i setup according to BMW. I've had a set sitting in my garage waiting to retrofit for a while. I plan to run those with Z4 floating rotors and F30 backing plates to increase airflow. Note: the backing plate design changed and the free flowing version is no longer available new.

Both retrofits require coding to work properly as well.

Not sure they show up well in this photo, but I've got 335i brakes and love 'em.

Took the new girl on a mini road trip to Santa Barbara and back home through Malibu. Had to take a few photos. Deep Sea Blue really changes with certain lighting.

In some light, I'd swear you're Monaco Blue like me, and in others it's totally different. Really nice.

Hey guys,
As an international student in America, this is a very big moment for me. I just picked up my first car and it just so happens to be one of my favourite station wagons.

It's a 200k mile, straight piped 2006 E91 325xi 6 Speed Manual. It's a clean car from the outside but it has alot of underbody rust. Hoping to slowly build it into an OEM+ spec with some nice wheels.

Sweet, might look into some! Did you have to do anything to the arches with those spacers or is it all clear? Also does the side profile look right with a bigger spacer at the front than rear?

That'll be the prefect ride for upstate NY! Get some winter wheels/tires, and hopefully you have a place to store them and work on the car!

Hi everyone, just testing the water, this is my first post and just seeing that my image works,

imported from Japan to UK, pre LCI 335i.

haven't taken delivery yet, but it is in the UK up north from me, with Club Japan imports who did all the leg work.
