NSC COAPI error

I’m trying to complete a CCC to CIC retro fit on my 2008 E92 Alpina B3 but cant read and change the FA from the CAS or FRM to change it and all i get is the errors in the pic below

I have tried the instal i have on two other cars, a 2008 E93 320i and a 2001 E46 Alpina B3 and it works perfectly with them.

Searching on line suggests this error is something to do with daten files but I can’t find anything relevant to an Alpina. My suspicions are from it being an Alpina and having two different chassis numbers.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Change build date to #0909
Add $6VA to vehicle order
Default code CIC

I don't think you're doing the correct steps

Edit: I just realized you said you can't even access VO? When you press f2 and e89 you get this error?

I get weird coapi errors sometimes when I have a trc file with data in it, try deleting your trc and man files in the work directory and then reconnecting to the car.

Open your FA.TRC file, and delete all of info and save it. Then, try again.

Edit: Better yet, do that for all of the files in your C:\NCSEXPER\Work directory.

Nope! Can't open any of the files to delete the info.

Any one know of a suitable TRC file opener to download that wont infect my computer?

Notepad, Notepad++? Basically any text editor will open them.

Ok so I used note pad, cleared all the contents of those files saving each one and rechecking they were empty.

Tried it and still the same error and unable to read the VO.

Ok im stumped now as ive just tried on another car, a 2010 E91 320i and no problem at all, straight in and read the VO from the CAS and FRM.

I'm beginning to think it either has something to do with it being an Alpina or another possible theory is that when i did my electric rear sun blind retro fit i coded it with Autologic as a retrofit so possibly the change in VO with Autologic has changed something thats stopping me read the VO with NCS.

Even more odd is i can read and change the VO with Autologic but it wont let me code the CIC im trying to retro fit.

Any aftermarket add on's Like a motor tune?

Can you use functional jobs to read the hardware and software versions
of your ECU's (Functional Jobs in Inpa)Post the screen shot.

Compare them to the working cars.

Also most report it requires a ICOM cable to program Most Bus modules
on cars made after 3/07(I think the Head Unit is in that category)

Plus it may need a temporary production date change in order to load newer software into and older car with the BMW software.
for a CIC into a CCC car.

The only thing is an Alpina Awron gauge but that was disconnected yesterday with the same results.

I do get some 'versions do not match errors when connection to ECUs using INPA but can still proceed and read all the info out of the ECUs.

I have full use of ISTA, ISTA-P both copy versions with a copy ICOM and versions connected to BMW with a genuine ICOM. I have not tried to program or code the CIC using either as past experience has shown that trying to code used control units with any version of ISTA has resulted failure.

I have changed the production date to 09/10 and added 6VA using Auto logic.

As soon as i click F6 for E90 then Functional jobs this appears.

After pressing ok then clicking F3 i get this

This is with the ccc back in place.

I notice the CAS reads the Chassis number P175331 but the FRM reads yyyyyyy
and as both store the VO is this my problem?

And why are some but not all other units on the MOST reading yyyyyyy?

Also odd that the JBBF reads 0000000 for the VIN when the JBE was replaced with a brand new unit when i did the sun blind retro fit which was coded to the car.

When i plug Autologic in it says there are updates available for a few units including the CAS. I assume the same would happen with ISTA/P so maybe updating these units first might help?

If you're in inpa and press e90 > and then try to manually choose modules what happens?

E90 > Body > Airbag
E90 > Body > FRM
E90 > Chassis > Dynamic Stability Control

Do they all say no response to control unit when you try to access them all? If so you have a JBE issue, flash JBE with winkfp and you'll be able to connect to all the modules again.
