09 i-drive flash fail?

I got updated to the current idrive version in early december. I am now noticing that my nav will not return to the screen it was on before after I turn the car off. I am always presented with the i-drive menu. I will be in the nav screen, cd, presets and it still returns to the menu screen after I turn my car off. I am also noticing high pitched burps every once in a while from music playback on the car hard drive. I have checked my music to make sure it was not on the song. The high pitched burps occur randomly.

I am thinking I had a failed flash on the i-drive. Others care to chime in?

Thanks

No chirps with late Dec update. I don't nav screen issue. I see new features, but added bugs, too. For ex, when navigating to a dest in the address book, the Last Destinations entry is now incomplete; no dest name, no street name sometimes.

The high-pitched burps as you call them could be glitches/errors in the music ripping process or errors occurring on the hard drive. If it were me, I'd mention during your next service visit for warranty repair..
