"Aux (Front)" Input USB Problems
I can't get the Aux input in the glove compartment to read my USB flash drive. It's greyed out on the "External Device" list, but it works fine on any computer I use. Do I need to change a setting? Or remove the ipod (from the center console connector)?
Since I haven't used it, can some describe what should happen when you plug in an external usb drive? You have to import the music, right? You can't play the songs straight from the usb drive like i do on a computer, correct? Thanks, M |

Mine is the same way as well, so how do I transfer the music if I can't select the drive. It's as if it doesn't know it exists! The drive was formatted on a Vista machine and I palced 4 mp3s on it to test. It is a basic no name brand (Microcenter) 4GB USB thumbdrive. Any reports on what thumb drives work well?

From what my tech told me is that you should use a new stick and only use it for the car and also have a seperate stick for a back up.. For some reason if you format it, many of the cars will not see it for some reason.

No dice. Neither FAT nor FAT32 works. The only other solution offered above is to buy a new stick, but I'm not convinced that can solve the problem.
David1 - I don't understand how only using it in the car can fix the issue, since i'd have to connect to my computer at some point in order to copy music to the drive. |

Well, tried formatting as FAT32 and no luck. This stupid USB port in the glove compartment no longer reads memory sticks. Annoying. Ill have the dealer look into it next month when I bring it in for an oil change...
