09/11 build with no combox?

I keep reading all over the forums that the 09/11 BMW 3 series has combox that offers graphic art/bt streaming etc. I verified my new 328i is 09/11 build and even has the new updated base audio for sep builds but I have no office option in drive and my iPhone does not work with the white cable. I have navigation and the USB in armrest. Am I missing something? My car was made in south Africa for us market.

IPhone doesn't support Office function.

True, but I believe the option still exist in the menu. Also by streaming doesn't work and that us supported. White cable etc. I read that some peoples 09 models were mistakingly upgraded with combox code and the options appeared. I'm curious Igbo might have combox but it's not enabled. Is there any way to physically examine the car for the combox? 328i sedan 2011. 09/10 south African build for us.

Searching helps.

Look at your trunk, close to the rear bulkhead on the floor... you should see a single silver box like this one: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...30&postcount=8

If the box does not have the "fins" on the top -it is instead smooth- then somehow there is no Combox in your car. It is a TCU.

Ok just looked and what I have is smooth like you say and says tcu1.5 . Kinda bummed I didn't do my research and just read 2011 models would have the feature. I wonder how hard, if possible, ito add in a combox to a 2011 cic. Would it void warranty? I will give the guys at bmwretrofit a shout. thx for info guys

I wanted to check my MY2011 too since its about the same time, also from South Africa. Where is this module located in the trunk, again? I.e. where exactly on the trunk floor is this? Left or right side? Do I need a tool to open it? Picture would help!

Come on, now... do you need a forum member to book a flight to be there to show you as well? I posted where it is.

Open you trunk, remove your floor panel and look.

This is absurd.

Once u lift up the floor panel you will see your storage bin. continue to lift it up to where u can see the part right up against the back seat. You'll see the metal box and if it says tcu1.5 gsm USA your out of luck. It seems for our build they moved us inclusion of combox to October vice September.

However, there will be a mod for thus soon and more than likely the new BMW connected in march Will work with combox via a software update. We will know more in the coming weeks.
