Group buys you'd like to see
There's been heaps of great GBs over the past 12 months including LSDs, reversing lights and CF wraps. Got me thinking about ways we could all stretch our modding dollars through more GBs or saving on postage by combining orders from the USA etc. Thought we could do with a thread where people can post when they are placing an OS order or looking to buy parts to see if there are other peeps interested in sharing the costs. Any ideas for GBs you would like to see? Anyone placing an order soon for parts from the USA or Europe?
To start off I'm keen to get some new O2 sensors and to buy some CF cloth to try some CF skinning |

I am interested in an LSD. I contacted DiffLab, the Australian distributor for Mfactory LSD's and this is what he qouted me for a bolted diff (AUD)
MFactory LSD $1489 Shim Set $229 Seal Set $99 Assembly by DiffLab $349 $110 to send diff back and forth (if you are not in QLD) Total $2,276 + Uninstall/ Install Cost of actual diff onto car by a local workshop/ bmw specialist. Note: Anyone with a welded crown gear can get theirs done for an additional $400 to cover machining and bolt set. I asked him if I got 5 people interested would he offer any discount and he said NO lol. This is DiffLab's e-mail to me regarding their service. "Regarding my installation costs: my installation service is the only one in Australia to fully blueprint the differential. Only I have the custom made shim sets which can get the setup this accurate and perfect fitment avoiding undesirable clunks and noises. You shouldn't confuse my service with any other differential builder in Australia, and most others worldwide. I also have new bearing sets which nobody else in Australia has. I believe this comes in at about a thousand cheaper than the nearest alternative. Sorry, no discounts available. I am already the cheapest, and I offer the best service in the country" It seems like he is very confident in his product and workmanship which is good for consumers |

CF skinning where you lay down CF cloth and coat in epoxy. Cloth is about $80 per square M but is cheaper the more you buy plus resin and hardener. Thought I'd give it a go. There's a couple of vids on YouTube doesn't look to hard but would probably take a bit of practice to get decent results. I'll see if I can find the link and post it when I get home

Oh, you mean a carbon fibre DIY kit.
I'm keen, but not if it's expensive. I'd like to have a go at covering the OEM rear diffuser with some carbon fibre + making a basic front splitter. I bought a fibre glass kit from bunnings but never got the 3mm mdf for making the base template. |

If you are going to diy any sort of cf and you are using an epoxy, use surfboard resin. It is UV resistant and will not fade or go hazy or milky in the sunlight like a lot of cheap cf products do. |
