330 window won't go up
My rear window will not go back up after I put it down, maybe it has to do with the motor regulator it still makes noise but does not move but if anyone has had this problem and knows how to fix it please let me know thank you

Probably the window regulator is shot. You have to take off the door panel and the vapour barrier. Tons of videos on youtube on how to change it.

Regulator. There are plenty of DIY guides on this.
I used a knife to saw, not slice, the vapor barrier reusable silicone material. Came off quite easily. The silicone is very tacky, be careful not to stain the interior. It was a bit tricky to remove the clip that holds the window in place, but the whole procedure didn't take more than 45 minutes. Also, I disconnected the battery when removing the window switch and motor cables. You'll have to adjust the limits using the window switch buttons, again many guides on this. My old regulator was mangled, passenger fell asleep on the window button. Maybe went into some reset mode. Last edited by Suvorovo; 02-20-2024 at 09:51 AM.. |

yeah common issue. If it makes noise it's the regulator.
If it does not make noise of go up then down, most of the time you need a simple reset adaptation with inpa. |

The plastic clip that holds the window is a known failure point. It seems just like the plastic soft coating on the interior parts that failed and scratched off. For some reason BMW has a plastic problem. Heck this past weekend I went to replace my rear tail lights and both sides the clip was brittle and snapped off. Admittedly the first was a learning experience but the second I had learned and was gentle and it too snapped off.... grrrr

Yeah most likely all of the above ☝️. Ive always wanted to know why the rear regulator s go bad first than the front ones? I would assume the front ones are used more often therefore should break sooner? Both of my rear ones had to be replaced a few years ago. Front ones havent in 18yrs. 🤔

When I bought this my e90 over a year ago on car check up the rear window didn't want to go up after going fully down. Each time I press up it seem to try, but fails after half an inch and goes back down.
I've restarted the car and it went right up no proble. Not sure where is the bottle neck, but after restart it always works. Perhaps same issue? |
