Valve cover loose part

Anyone know if this part is supposed to be glued on mine fell of when removing valve cover and now just barley sits on it

Looks like it has to do with the integrated PCV / oil separator. You might just be able to leave it off.

It looks like a grommet or seal. They are not typically glued, they are designed to be snug enough to just pop in and stay put when everything is bolted together. But if it popped off when you were taking the valve cover off, it might be worn out or not up to snuff anymore.

I think it is best to replace the valve cover at this point. An old cover is known to crack. This is an unreliable cover. And if you purchase from FCP I believe it will carry lifetime replacement policy?? I use a Uro from Rock Auto so I do not know about FCP's recent policy changes.

If that thing is not there, the crankcase cyclonic valve may not work correctly in separating the oil from the crankcase blowby. And that may leave you with increased oil consumption. Just my guess anyway.
