Intake manifold gaskets - should I also use sealant?
I have the new gaskets and am ready to reinstall the intake manifold — should I add anything like Permatex black or Curil T to ensure a good seal? (I’ve seen it recommended for valve cover and oil pan gaskets but not on the intake manifold.)
Any tips for a smooth install? |

for intake gasket, not really.
Some shops using Elring Curil T2 on gasket that are known to leak oil, like OFGH, valve cover, oil pan, and they've reported to increase by a lot the time of the next oil drip on your driveway. |

No.
Just clean the surfaces and use a good gasket. I use a very thin coating of silicon lubricant, Molykote 1292 or dow 111.
